Hello,

It looks to me like ARD 2 uses the VNC protocol.
Does anyone know if you can use a VNC viewer from a PC to remote a Mac that is configured with Apple Remot Desktop 2?

Thanks

The tech specs page says that you can control or observe both on and from any Mac or VNC enabled computer. I take this you mean you can both control a Mac from a VNC client, and vice versa.

-rand()

Yes, I have used Chickenof the VNC to control a machine with ARD 2 installed and enabled. Its not as fluid as I woudl like.

Its MUCH better using ARD 2 to control PCs or Macs with VNC.

My guess is that you should use VNC when using a MAc to control A PC or vice versa and ARD for Mac only work. I have NOT tried a PC to Mac via VNC.

Now if they could get PC Anywhere functionality we would be all set.
