Apple remote not working :(

I got my mini today and I can get this darn apple remote to work. Yes there is a battery in it lol. I checked out apple site and made sure that the security is correct and it is. Im kinda thinking that its the updates that its needing. Can someone explain to me how could i get this to work. I dont think the battery is dead.

Did you pair the remote to the MacMini? Maybe thats what you meant by checking the security????

TBH I tried it and couldnt figure it out. lol

um i will try it but i mean on the security was the checkboxes.

Hey I tried it but nothing It says that a link will show but where? Another thing is it also says if your battery is died a icon will show but I dont see it anywhere on the desktop
