After building some experience through others' Macs, I decided to get a MacBook White month or two ago. Over the weekend my friend gave me one of his Apple Remotes. I enabled the IR sensor and paired the device (the chain icon appeared as well as a low battery symbol). I put in a new battery and re-paired. The only apparent functional button is Menu. I can press that and Front Row loads, I can't navigate any part of Front Row using any of the buttons, or pause music I manually started. With iTunes in focus, the remote does not play/pause, select tracks, and control volume. I opened Photo Booth to check the IR LED, the only time it lights is when I press the Menu button. Can someone else do this and confirm my logic that every button should flash the IR LED? If the Apple Remote somehow defies logic, please offer suggestions.
