I searched but encountered a problem...

I thought my Apple remote's battery died so I changed it, still doesn't work. I google'd for solutions like:
1) go to security in sys pref -> general -> pair
2) disable guest access to admin folders
3) pair by holding menu + next for 5 seconds

- the problem is I don't see a "pair/unpair" option under the general tab
- in system profiler -> usb, I don't see an IR receiver
- my guest account is disabled
- I tried the menu+next for 5 seconds but no chain link shows up
- I'm running the latest, 10.5.6 and updated all security updates

I attached a pic of what my security -> general pane looks like.

Go to your System Profiler(Apple logo in upper left corner and you should see it while you hold the option button down), and on the left hand side there is a whole hardware section. I believe the IR receiver is under the USB one, but check under all the hardware sections and see if your IR sensor/receiver is there. Let me know.

I checked all the tabs under hardware but no IR receiver/sensor. Attached of what I see under USB.
