Apple repair?

I sent my apple MBP for a repair for my logic board and battery issue, when they sent it to me, i came to know there is one more problem to the laptop. i sent it back again and now today they called me and told me that the hard drive is bad and need to be replaced and they would charge 700 dollars for it.
What exactly apple is trying to do here.
Are we just creating a hype for apple products are apple products really worth it?

700 Dollars for replacing a hard drive which is of 250gb?

I'd have them send it back and replace the hard drive yourself for a 1/4 of that price!

look on the internet at ifixit they have step by step guides for replacing anything on almost any mac ... new HDD 50-150 bucks

700 is insane... but that's a correct # for a logic board replacement
