So i had the black screen of death.... went to the apple store... paid ~$300 for nvidia video issue since i was out of warranty for the logic board to be replaced... i get my laptop back about 3 or 4 days later and they replaced additional parts even when i was out of warranty... like the replaced the optical drive, the keyboard because i had a 2 keys missing, and the left clutch. I was wondering if i'd get charged for that as well? Thanks.

For that price it sounds like they sent it out for flat rate which is the same price no matter how many parts as long as there is no damage.

Ah nice he did say it was a flat rate in the apple store. Guess that answers that question. Thanks for the quick response!

The logicboard should be replaced for free with the nVidia recall.

First of all, it's not a recall.

Second, not all black screen issues are related.

Third, nVidia issue is only covered for four years.
