Our iPad 3 is 20 months old now, and the home button doesn't work all the time, and it's shut down for no reason 3 times during the past week.

Fortunately we have AppleCare on it, and they are doing an Express Exchange which will arrive Tuesday; simply have to love Apple's super support.

I imagine we'll be getting a refurbished iPad 3, so the question is: What exactly is a refurbished iPad, and should we have any worries with it?

Have any of you guys had any issues with a refurbished iPad?

Thank you!

It's usually a returned item that has been recertified by apple. Honestly, refurbished products are more consistent than new products because they go through more stringent testing.

Apple refurbished also get new battery and new shell per the store site.

It should look and behave like new. Except for the box it's in you shouldn't be able to discern the difference.
