Gift Receipt Return Policy
Gift items purchased at a retail Apple Store can be returned with an original Gift Receipt within fourteen (14) calendar days of the date of purchase. If the item is returned in the original box, unopened, with the original packaging, we will exchange it or offer you an Apple Gift Card equal to the purchase price of the gift, including tax and any other fees. All other standard purchase policies outlined above apply.

During the holiday season only, you have up until January 8th to return items, though if the product is opened, there will be a 10% restocking fee.

See the bottom of the page: http://www.apple.com/legal/sales_policies/retail_us.html

Holiday Return Policy

Items purchased at an Apple Retail Store between October 30, 2010, and December 25, 2010, may be returned with an original receipt or Gift Receipt through January 8, 2011. If the item is returned in the original box, unopened, with the original packaging, we will exchange it or offer you an Apple Gift Card. Refunds will be granted through January 8, 2011 only when an original purchase receipt is provided and will be based solely on the original method of payment.

This holiday return policy does not apply to iPhone or wireless service contracts. All other Apple Retail Store purchase policies apply and your statutory rights are not affected.

Get it at Walmart if you can. They have the same holiday extension as Apple but they do NOT charge a 10% restocking fee.
