I got my X today. Not sure if I want to keep it. What’s the return policy if I open it? Also does the holiday return policy include phones? Thanks.

You have from the date of purchased now to January 8 2018 to return it.

As far as I remember with Apple Holiday Seasons, keep all your accessories and UNDAMAGED iPhone [no scratches/scuffs/dents] in tact if you are not satisfied with the product. Following the above you should get a seamless return directly back to the original payment.

It includes everything in the apple retail store, minus the obvious stuff like Gift Cards/Software CD & USBs... and digital content.

I thought that extended policy didn't kick in until 11/25 ? What is the return date end on top of your receipt say?

edit:

'If you need to return something, send it back for free, or drop it off at any Apple Store. For eligible products purchased between November 15, 2017 and December 25, 2017, you have until January 8, 2018 to initiate a return. Simply sign in to your account or call us at 1-800-MY-APPLE.'

This is what I saw at least regarding the US...

I find this then:

'If you need to return something, send it back for free, or drop it off at any Apple Store. For eligible products purchased between November 15, 2017 and December 25, 2017, you have until January 8, 2018 to initiate a return. Simply sign in to your account or call us at 1-800-MY-APPLE.' sigh

They’ll inspect the X for any major damage. Minor scratches (daily wear and tear) are fine. And they’ll confirm the serial numbers match up. Aside from that, the returns are very smooth and painless.

If the iPhone isn’t unlocked then it is still held under the normal return policy. For example, the extended Apple Store return policy won’t extend the return policy of iPhones bought under iUp.

This is also correct. The Holiday return policy only applies to devices purchased outright. iUP, or contract financed device don't fall under this return holiday period and you still have 14 days to return them.

Off topic, create a return label and notice that the return date is Dec 1, 2017 so does that mean in order for the refund Apple has to have your phone by Dec 1st, or does it have to be scan into Fedex system by Dec 1st?

They have to receive it by Dec. 1st.

i just got my iPhone x 256gb space grey this morning and the receipt says Jan 8 2018 return as of below, i bought it in the retail store not via the online store. before i bought a case [iphone silicone case in product red] for the iphone x and i notice the return date was longer than 2 week period. only because its christmas gifting and wrapping of presents, and in some cases "some" people might not like the color, look, design, storage, phone, etc so they extended the policy for that reason alone which is excellent on apples part, this was what i was told by the staff above. they want you to be happy with the gift you receive and sometimes its hard to think about what people "really" want because of so many underlying factors [if someone bought u something from the apple store]

part of my receipt attach below. all i did was blank out my name, email, serial and imei of my iPhone X 256GB space grey purchase.

If your device was delivered on the 15th do you have the holiday return period?

How can I find out?

I dont know if i can answer about online apple store enquiries as I always buy my stuff via retail since there's a physical store nearby me, i think you have to ask the apple support to verify your order number/receipt for you and what you are/aren't entitled towards to etcetc.

Is it true that you can only make a certain number of returns before Apple flags you? I'm not sure what happens after you've been flagged. The reason why I ask is because early this year, I purchased a MBPtb 15", I thought it was too big and returned it. Then, last month I purchased a MBPtb 13" and thought it was too small and returned that. So this coming Dec., I plan to purchase back the MBPtb 15" and also an X. I'm hoping the Sim Free X will be available by Dec. 21st. If I don't end up liking the X, I may return that too and wait next year for the X Plus. You think this is excessive?

I just read of people here at MacRumors returning their iPhones 4,5,6,7,8 times over, and Apple continues to accept their exchanges.

It depends. But they do track. But in your situation, I wouldn't worry too much about it. It's not like you bought one today and return it the next day and then rebuy another on the same day and then return.

I don't know if this is what Apple does or allows, but there are third-party companies that utilize services were they monitor returns and they flag the customer for too many excessive returns in a short amount of time for high dollar amounts. And what happens is, is the customer then has to dispute the returns for reasons as to why and then the third-party company makes the decision to unflag the customer based on the accuracy and completeness of the returns.

If the consumer return company denies the returns, I have heard it's up to 365 days before a consumer can make a return to a specific store.

Again, I don't know the Apple utilizes these types of services offered, but I do know they exist. Best Buy for example is one of the companies that does this. Apple might have their own in-house flagging system.

Thanks.... That would only be 3 returns this year 2017 - 15"MBPtb 13"MBPth and I forgot to mention AirPods. The X would be the fourth return if I end up not liking it. But I will be keeping the MBPth 15" I plan on purchasing this coming Dec.

I returned an 8 Plus because of the Bluetooth problem.

Never had to talk to anybody, no fuss or mess.

Used original box, and return was prepaid.

It was an amazingly easy thing to do.

I've heard the same of a 3rd. company that will monitor returns. I know someone who was flagged at BestBuy only because he couldn't figure the perfect size LCD TV he purchased for his family room. He started with 42", 48", 50", 52", 60" and ended up with a 72", among other accessories he purchased along with it before he was flagged.

Sometimes I think it's based on the dollar amount for the returns as well. But I have read and heard stories about Best Buy denying returns for customers Being hints and within their return period . Other companies are utilizing services like This as well. Apple likely has their own in-house flagging system, but I don't know what their terms and conditions are behind that.

That is extremely excessive, considering it's Apple. They have everything out of the box and there for you to try out

I've returned many devices to Apple. Many more than you have. And I haven't been flagged or banned yet. Honestly, I probably should have, but it's not my fault their quality control sucks. You'll be fine.
