I am thinking of buying a new iPhone XS Max, as my current xs Max has some damage due to my own fault. I am not 100% sure if I want to buy another one, however I have made around 8 returns to Apple in the last 12 months, 4 being iPhones and 4 being accessories and I am wondering if I decided to buy the iPhone XS Max but once I received it changed my mind would I be able to return it for a refund or would Apple decline the return as I’ve already returned 4 iPhones and 4 accessories in the last 12 months. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't understand why the need to buy another one when you already have one? I know you mentioned damage on your current due to your own fault, but why not just deal with it and then wait for the new model in September? Doesn't make sense to have another one just because you damaged your phone. But then it's up to you how you want to deal with it.

I agree with your points, just prefer to own a pristine phone, if I did go ahead and purchase one and changed my mind do you think Apple would accept another return from me? Thanks

You won’t have a problem returning another iPhone with Apple. There are forum members who have returned 6, 8, even 10 iPhones without ever being denied from Apple. What will get you flagged with Apple, is if you’re making multiple returns at multiple Apple stores in a very short period of time.

Thanks for your reply, my last return was around 4 - 5 months ago so I guess I’ll be fine and I can just use another Apple ID to return it if I need to. Thanks

I know someone who was banned after returning his iPhone 5 times and MacBook Pro 3 times. He also returned his iPad Pro multiple times, all at the same store.

I do not think anyone knows the magic formula except Apple.

If your last return was 4 to 5 months ago, then you’re perfectly fine. What usually will flag or have someone denied, is for example, if the returning four/five iPhones within two days to three/four different Apple stores. Apple is very lenient with their policies compared to other retailers. Believe me, there are forum members on here that have returned Way-more devices excessively than you have and they have never been denied/banned.

If you were also concerned, you could also call Apple ahead of time, just explain your situation and have them notate your account before you go to the Apple Store.
