Apple Returns/Refund Process time?

Hi, my sister has not long received a 13" MBP, however is now reconsidering and looking to get a refurbished 15" MBP. She has the RMA number, etc and the courier will call either tomorrow or the day after, the question is how long will the process take from collecting the 13" to crediting her account? as she is afraid the refurb 15" will have been bought by then.

I've told her that the times they quote on the site are usually slightly exaggerated to cover themselves. Having never needed to use Apple returns myself, I have no experience of how efficient they are so I thought I'd ask here.

Note that this is the Apple UK online store. Any info or experiences on their returns process will be greatly appreciated, cheers.

i remember dealing with a similar situation several years ago. i bought a 15" and returned it so that i could get a 17" instead. my credit card could only hold enough for one computer, not two. so, apple received my 15" return within 48 hours, but the refund took more than 7 days from what i remember.

i wouldn't worry about a computer not showing up again in the refurb store. if what your looking for runs out of stock, it'll eventually show up again very soon....you just have to check every day. i just bought a refurbished 2011 15" and i'm more than happy. i was watching it in the refurb store for a few weeks and then it disappeared, but it came back up only 4 days later. by the way, the computer looks brand spankin' new. it literally looks like they threw a brand new Macbook Pro in a refurbished box.

Is that 7 working days to process the refund? Or 7 calendar days? Also that's good to hear about the refurb quality! Which 15" did you go for?

i don't remember exactly, but i think it was about 7 working days for the purchase to be fully credited back to my American Express once Apple received my return.

i bought a refurbished 15"/2.3 Quad-Core/Hi-Res Anti-Glare/750GB HD....just received it 3 days ago. i installed an OWC 120GB 6G SSD and OWC 8GB RAM in it myself yesterday (i need the extra oomph cause i work with 3D visual effects). i've only owned 17" Macbook Pros in the past, so this is my first 15", and i really, really like it.
