I just can't see that retina eye in Apple's banner.

I don't think it's a reference to the retina display. People can even find faces and images in odd shadows or cookies... it means nothing.

Mother of God!

this must mean it has an A6 chip! they've tried to hide it behind the Apple but they won't get it past me!

Now all I CAN see is an eye in that corner.

But really, no. Apple's plenty crafty, but that's way too obscure/subtle to be an intentional design choice.

I see liquid splashes and an apple logo... they are releasing a new apple-flavored fruit drink tomorrow! I JUST KNOW IT.

The texture of the banner in the top left corner is exactly like that of an iris, plus, the color choice perfectly reflect the retina icon with the apple logo in the middle where the retina would be. No question about it to me that they snuck that in.
