So earlier this week I ordered an iphone xs max and an apple watch series 4. I put my credit card info and I got the you're all set page. Then later that night I look at the status and it says cancelled. Also that I cancelled the item. I did NOT cancel it. So i tried again yesterday, and the same thing happened. Does anyone have an explanation? I just want my items already but I probably wont get them until next week :(

You placed an order with Apple that they later said you canceled, which you did not. Twice. And you don't think you should have to call and find out what happened? Seriously?
I dont think I should because Apple was the only site that I've had some problems with. I would just assume things would go smoothly.

Apple can and will cancel orders they suspect may be fraudulent. I'm sure they get it all the time. You don't have to contact them, you're more than welcome to shop elsewhere. However if it's a legitimate order I don't understand why you are reluctant to spend five minutes making a simple phone call.

Another reason I'd call them and see what's up. Simple logic really.

Obviously you received a variety of advice from others in here, most of it is very good, the only other reason I could understand the cancellation, which might have been some type of discrepancy with your credit card (Limits, invalid information), and when the order was processing, it wasn’t successful due to need some type a limitation/issue with the card holder.

Either your bank canceled the order due to suspected fraud, or Apple did. I don't understand why you wouldn't call both parties to inform one of them that you meant to place the order. You should be thankful that one or both parties were being vigilant.

When I was ordering my Series 4 AW my order got cancelled for no apparent reason, called my bank first who said I should call Apple, I did and the senior sales advisor I was put through spent 20 minutes trying to get my card to process but said that it's not an issue with me but their end that it sometimes just won't go through, he even made sure I get my AW release day as I had physically paid for the order a few hours later after realising.

Honestly, if you're wanting to legitimately order it you can call them or drop them a chat online, hey ho you could drop by into an Apple Store if you really want. Not everything is 100% foolproof and mistakes can happen. ‍♂️

The exact reason why people don't want to call - who wants to spend 20 min on the phone?

Apple seems to be the only company that can't check a card before it allows the order to go through...

Just happened to me with a card that certainly works in all the other places - I am assuming a minor discrepancy in billing address is the reason.

Oh - very old thread, I see.

Sorry just trying to give Apple my money - they don't have custom configurations in the store, but if this fails a few more times I'll just settle for the stock config. Anyway didin't mean to raise this thread from the dead.
