As stated in the title, how long will Apple take to ship my iPhone when it's in the "Preparing for Shipment" stage?

When Apple says "preparing for shipment" your phone has most likely already shipped.

Go to ups.com and click on track by reference. Enter your bill to phone number in the shipment reference field, select your country and your postal code.

It takes Apple a a couple days to send you the tracking number.

I did that, but got this...

>>>UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request. Verify your information and try again.

Any suggestions?

The phone isn't ready to ship yet. If it's saying that it's going to ship later within that specified date that means your phone isn't really in stock yet so there's nothing to ship.

Don't worry about constantly checking it. If you have a later ship date, that's when it's probably going to come. The shipping also won't tell you anything until ups or whoever actually ships the phone.

Yeah, I just wonder why it says preparing to ship then... hmm.. (So disappointed!)

Well what else can it say? It is getting ready for shipment. That's what it's doing.

Just check every few days or so but you'll get the phone when it gets there.

Well, before it first stated "We've Recieved Your Order", then went to "Processing Items", and now it's at "Preparing Your Shipment".

Under the last category the information is:
We are preparing your item(s) to ship. While your item is being prepared, we are unable to modify your order details. We will email you a Shipment Notification with complete order details once your order leaves our warehouse.

To me, this infers that it is about to ship soon or already has like the guy's post aforementioned above.

Bump

I know this thread is 3 years old...

But I ordered the iPhone 6 Plus on the 28th September 2014, and it has just gone to 'Preparing for Dispatch' a few hours ago (About Lunchtime (UK) 7th October).

Any ideas how long this stage will take

Thanks

J Mahone :) :apple:

This is actually pretty funny, because it seems the whole process of all this hasn't changed in 3 years, everyone asking about times and everything. Just keep an eye on your tracking number, it's a little different for everyone.

Hi There,

There is no tracking number on my order?

Does it take a certain amount of time for it to appear?

Thanks

J Mahone :)

Which size and color Plus did you order J?
I ordered the SG 64GB on Sep 22nd and it's still in the processing stage...

Try phone number (10 digits, no punctuation). Last three shipments from Apple.com used phone number for my reference.
