G'day all,
I've been very sick recently and didn't get to use my iPod for 3 weeks. Now that I recovered I turned my iPod on but it had no battery. I put it to charge but it won't boot.

Stuck at Apple-Screen-of-Death.. the iPod won't boot!

I can of course restore it but here is the tricky part: I Do Not Have a Backup and Restoring will format the iPod :(

Music was loaded from my friend's Macbook but he moved back to West Virginia and I am unable to reach him

What can I do to boot my iPod (Restore it but not lose any data?!)

Any help will be greatly appreciated and I'd try do a good dead to someone random in return :)

Please help!

What version of iReb?

Thanks Skyhigh!
Appreciate your quick response..
What version should I go for the iReb?
I am using a Jailbreak 4.3.4 for iPod 3rd Gen, 32 GB.

Cheers mate, this one does account for one random act of goodness :D

...Damn, just realized, iReb is Windows compatible ONLY! I don't have access to a Windows machine :'(
What next? How do I go about fixing my poor iPod :(

Get the latest version?

We're just attempting to kick your device into recovery mode, and then out of it with iReb.

When it's kicked out of recovery mode it has another chance to boot.

EDIT: You're on 4.3.4 on a 3G iPod touch, and jailbroken.

This means your jailbreak is tethered! You can't reboot without a computer!

Get the latest redsn0w and select your firmware, then click the "just boot tethered" option to reboot your iPod.

Yep you have a tethered jailbreak. Open redsnow like you will jailbreak it but instead of selecting install cydia just select "just boot tethered right now".
