Was looking at store and prices are almost the SAME as $ prices! 1799 (2445$) for base 15"?!?!?!?! Who buys base 15" for 2500$ in US?! That's rip off. Just to tell you guys, Apple stuff is way overpriced here...

The previous base model 15" was cheaper, but it had no dedicated graphics card. This one has so yeah that's why the price is higher.

Before prices were 50-100 cheaper (so e.g. 1000$=900), this still applies to iMacs etc (base iMac 1099/1199$)
I know it's higher in US too but this time we are paying almost 700$ more for SAME computer! It's insane!
Basically its always been the same. Apple completely ignore the exchange rate (unless its in their favour) and the prices in Europe continue to show little resemblance to the US+ shipping costs.
There's no such thing as a level playing field when it comes to corporate money making. Apple know they can get away with screwing the Euro's. All the time people cough up - they'll keep doing it.

At least the Canadian prices are good. Canadian economy is strong and our dollar is currently at par with the US dollar ($1 CAD=$1 USD) and Apple recognized that. The entire lineup got a price drop with each model only $50 more than its US counterpart.
Keep in mind that prices in the Finland store include 22% VAT. Taxes are not included in the base U.S. store prices, as they depend on the customer's location.
$1799 plus 22% would be $2195, so the actual price difference between the countries is more like $250. Not ideal for you guys, but not $700.
