I know this isn't 100% the place to post this but i'm kind of stuck and need some help. I used to be a windows person and used it a lot and wasnt a programmer at all but i did make a rather successful chat command program back then. so I kind of understand the basics.
now i've been on a mac for 2 years now and love every second of it but trying to code a IRC bot for twitch. (Yes i know there is nightbot and moobot but they don't have commands that I find very useful) Now as far as i've gotten is using Colloquy (which uses applescript) and so far it's been moving a long but also not perfect. I need to have the scripts running in debug mode to work (my welcome script and my music now playing script, and also a new follower chat announce script.)
Now I want to actually add a command but when i try to run it in colloquy nothing happens.. yet xcode seems way above my head, and i'm not sure what to do and need some help.
I know the scripts run when i have them debugging most of the time so I dont know if it's colloquy acting up or if it's my code.
So i need this, a Mac IRC client that has wonderful scripting ability (in-house scripting or a plugin for applescript), and/or someone who know's colloquy or apple script that could help me, OR some other useful advice. Pointing me in the direction of tutorials or anything at this point..
