I use BluePhoneElite software to receive and send SMS's via my mobile phone. However, BluePhoneElite lacks some functionality that I want to try to include with some Apple Scripts.

The program allows you to provide Apple Scripts during certain events. What I want to do is when I receive an SMS text, I want the Dock icon to change similar to how the Mail icon changes to show there is new unread messages.

Might be too tricky to get the icon to display the number of new messages, but the icon changing colour or something until the message is read would be very helpful.

The default method of telling you is to bring the SMS text up to the front of the screen. Not very useful for privacy sake - if I was showing someone something on my laptop and I get a text and it pops up for him to see.
