Apple Seeds Fifth Beta of macOS Sierra 10.12.6 to Developers

Apple today seeded the fifth beta of an upcoming macOS Sierra 10.12.6 update to developers, two weeks after seeding the fourth beta and over a month after releasing macOS Sierra 10.12.5, a minor bug fix update.

The fifth beta of macOS Sierra 10.12.6 can be downloaded through the Apple Developer Center or through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store.

We didn't find any significant features or notable bug fixes in the first four macOS Sierra betas, and because Apple does not provide beta release notes, we may not know just what's included in the update until its public release.

macOS Sierra 10.12.6 is likely to be one of the final updates to the Sierra operating system as Apple transitions to macOS High Sierra, which was introduced at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June.

Yeah I was sure the public beta for high sierra was gonna be released yesterday especially since the betas for the other *OS products went live on Monday. Maybe today is gonna be our lucky day!

The Boot ROM update might explain why my 2010 MacBook Air rebooted about SIX times in the middle of the installation. All good now.

It is very likely the reason High Sierra has not yet been released in to the public arena is there are far too many bugs.

The High Sierra Developer Betas are dreadfully unstable mostly due to a bad installer and APFS. To release a High Sierra Public Beta at this stage would be a mistake as you will always have the idiots who will want to use it on their daily machine then when it all goes tits up complain like hell about instability.

This could be the result of a Spotlight cache corruption bug. I don't have any "known" issue to relate to, but rebuilding Spotlight cache is something that happens. I'd suggest you keep an eye on the process, though it could take a while to run completely.

Apple should create a program for pre-access for pre-early adopters of High Sierra, so that we, the rest of Mac users who wish to have a rock-solid, nuclear bomb-proof, MacOS, don't get High Sierra petitions noise when we wish to get all PDFKit bugs fixed in the last Sierra release.

So, Apple, please, do a rock-solid final release of Sierra, and provide (in Sierra) a fully fixed PDFkit in all its glory from the past.

If you watched the WWDC 17 keynote and were actually paying attention, Phil has lost quite a bit of weight recently and looks great. Besides that, attacks on people's weight are extremely childish and lame.

Phil seems to be working hard to make a lot of things better at Apple, including his own health. Give the guy a f*cking break already.

I've been having ongoing issues with stuttering audio over USB and browser freezing when playing audio through my external USB interface. Unplugging and re-plugging my audio interface helps temporarily. This is a known USB audio bug that's been affecting me since 10.12.4.
