Apple today seeded the fifth betas of upcoming watchOS 11.1, visionOS 2.1, and tvOS 18.1 updates to developers for testing purposes. The fifth betas come a week after Apple released the fourth betas.

watchOS 11.1 can be installed by going to the Apple Watch app and selecting the Software Update section under "General" in Settings. tvOS 18.1 can be downloaded and installed through the Apple TV Settings app, and visionOS 2.1 can be installed by going to the Software Update section of the Settings app on the Vision Pro and opting into Beta Updates.

So far, no major new features have been discovered in these three updates, though there are undoubtedly some minor feature tweaks and bug fixes that we'll learn about when Apple's release notes become available.

These betas are accompanied by iOS 18.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.1, which will introduce Apple Intelligence. There are no Apple Intelligence features in watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS as of yet.

While we don't always know what's included in minor watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS updates, we inform MacRumors readers when updates are available so those who are developers can download new software upon release.

So far no install issues seen. Next week expecting RC for this beta cycle.

Excited to get visionOS 2.1 done, so we can start getting the 2.2 betas with (hopefully) ultra-widescreen Mac virtual display.
If it’s not in 2.2 I’m selling my 2 VPs off. It’s not a great product as it is for my uses. I can easily say I’m not impressed anymore with it now that we have gone this long with largely no major improvement.

Anyone else not getting iMessage notification 'pops' on your watch randomly? I'm missing tons of iMessages when I would normally get a ping and a message would pop up.

My old Apple Watch 5 battery suffered badly under OS10. All iterations.
And eventually I decided to buy a new AW10.

Wow, the battery life is hugely better.

Doing the same tasks as I normally do, which by no means stretches the AW abilities to the full, I recently got 47 hours before I recharged.

At this rate I might even be tempted to reactivate the 80% daily charge limit.

I hate to agree but from 1 to 2.1 without widescreen feels a bit of a let down considering that's the feature I'm after and it feels like i'm not alone reading these posts.

Hey Apple Software Dev team, would it be too much to ask that the Watch team talk with the TV team on the various software releases so that, you know, the Watch can communicate with the Apple TV Fitness app? Just sayin'... <UPDATE> Apple Watch and TV were updated yesterday to latest Dev release. Watch wouldn't connect. I restarted Watch and still wouldn't connect. I rebooted TV and then the Watch would connect.

So much promise, but the only thing they're slowly delivering on is immersive video (and I do mean very slowly). Ideally, my biggest use case would be Spatial Computing, but so far that's largely a bust. Mostly iPad apps in compatibility mode. Heck, even Apple can't be bothered to update their most of their apps to be visionOS native. Which really leaves Mac mirroring as the productivity use case. And the needed improvement to that is MIA.

I found I was not a fan of some of the default settings for the TV app. I noticed when I was watching a movie on a streaming app and TV in the upper right corner was telling me the score for a sporting event. Then I got an another notification a bit later.

So suggest going into Apps -> TV > show sports scores to OFF (default is ON). I also choose to disable play history also. There is also sync my sports.

While I don't mind Apple TV app trying to suggest content, in no way should it violate another apps content at any time IMHO with notifications.
