Apple today seeded the first beta of an upcoming macOS Sequoia 15.6 update to developers for testing purposes, with the software coming a month after Apple released macOS Sequoia 15.5.

Developers can opt-in to the macOS Sequoia beta through the Software Update section of the System Settings app. An Apple ID associated with an Apple Developer account is required to get the beta.

There's no word yet on what's included in macOS Sequoia 15.6, but rumors suggest that Apple plans to bring Apple Intelligence to China. There have been some regulatory hurdles that Apple is dealing with, so Apple Intelligence in China might be delayed beyond macOS 15.6.

I am also still expecting another update for Ventura since the last updates come in July.
yeah for a short time there may be 4 mac betas coming out roughly the same time but soon they may stop the ventura ones probably when tahoe is released to public or thereabouts

dunno when tahoe beta 2 comes

i won't be running all of them though, just tahoe and sonoma for now

I sure hope they're working on stability, as you'd expect a .5 release to be stable by now. But last two reboots, desktop widgets have crashed on my M1. Last time, they didn't come back until after reboot. This time, they came back within 24 hours. Wish Apple would focus more on stability than features this late in the game.

No stability issues on my M2 air

No stability issues on my MacBook Pro M4 Pro either. Doing a clean install and moving back your files, photo and music libraries manually can do wonders once in a while.

I just wish I would be able to delete the 9.46 GB Apple Intelligence uses from my storage but I can't.
Dunno why the downvotes but what I suspect is Apple is intentionally intertwining their base OS with more and more code level mixing in with Apple intelligence related features, making “uninstalling Apple intelligence” or even deleting the data impractical, much like IE in the old days from Microsoft.

“How are we supposed to figure out the 245,329 files AI generated and scattered all over iOS and remove them? They only take up 35GB of space. Just buy a new iPhone”

Face it. AI will be intermixed with everything, apps/OS. Plan RAM accordingly.

Turns out Apple did learn valuable lesson from the good old IE days, and utilise it to the maximum possible extent.

RIP those who bought 64GB/128GB iPhone. Now their system will have substantial amount of storage being permanently unusable for their stuff.

1) RAM is not mass storage. And usage of RAM is a superb way to compute; hence RAM usage has constantly been increasing for 40 years and will continue to do so.

2) AI is not some IE-type Apple effort at making folks use Apple's house app, it is a rapidly evolving industry-wide tool that does seem to like having more RAM available. No sinister corporate skullduggery aimed at selling RAM.

Folks who fail to buy up with RAM of course sub-optimize their future computing performance, and AI usage by apps/OS will exacerbate that. We constantly see users gab about what worked last year in these fora when they should instead be doing the hard work of trying to determine what will work well over the full future life cycle of any new box.

Have always bought the max memory option for iPhones and iPads as well as the Macs I have owned. Storage was the variable as 8TB is not necessary for most Macs. So as a test bed, I maxed out a new M4 MBAir with 32GB ram and 2TB SSD as that was the most Apple sold for that series.

The 17 series iPhones are rumored to have 12GB of ram and the 18 series might have 16GB of ram (like the other Apple devices). I will guess the 16GB will suddenly be the minimum memory for AI in Apple world.....

13.7.7 and 14.7.7 betas are seeded.
