Apple today seeded the first beta of an upcoming tvOS 13.4.8 update, two weeks after releasing the tvOS 13.4.5 update.

Designed for the fourth and fifth-generation Apple TV models, the new tvOS 13.4.8 beta can be downloaded onto the Apple TV through a profile that's installed using Xcode.

tvOS updates are generally minor in scale, focusing on under-the-hood bug fixes and improvements instead of major outward-facing changes. There's no word on what's included in tvOS 13.4.8 as of yet.

While we don't often know what's new in tvOS during the beta testing process, we let MacRumors readers know when new updates are available so developers can download it on release.

I'd be happy if they can just get the TV show artwork to show up like it does on the TV app on my Mac for downloaded TV shows. I guess that goes for movies too, but they're not as bad.

When was the last time a meaningful update occurred on the tv? Seems that nearly all updates are due to underlying code base updates only.

What is everyone hoping to get out of a new model? Just wondering because I have a 4K ATV, and I don’t know what they could add/improve that would make me buy a new one.

The main thing I'd like is a better remote. I can't tell which is the top of the remote in the dark. I'd also like a few more buttons like up/down/left/right and OK. Would make using it so much easier instead of swiping all the time.

The firecube is pretty good at handling requests for content and tv stereo functions, a similar siri function would be great.

Seems only reason they release these updates is because every other product gets an update, hell might as well change version number and push one out for AppleTV.

Just a wish list, but I would love to see support for FaceTime (via external camera), better switching between users, and a more seamless integration of streaming and local content. Plus, in an alternate universe I would also be able to play my TV sound through stereo Echo devices!

For the love of all things Apple, please fix the library not loading issue in the Apple TV app. It does not load large libraries.

Apple's biggest spend customers get hit with this bug….one would think that would be worth fixing after a year and a half.

I want less app freezes resulting me to force quit, specifically the YouTube app and sometimes Plex. I force quit so often it feels like I’m on my iPhone 3GS again.

Bitstreaming support so I can play back my local dolby TrueHD atmos content and additionally dolbyvision profiles. Proper 24p support would also be nice.

Apple needs to add Family Profiles... i would like to have a profile for my daughter (apps and shows for her).

This. It’s the first thing I check after each update.
