Apple today seeded the first beta of an upcoming watchOS 9.2 update to developers for testing purposes, with the new beta coming just one day after the launch of watchOS 9.1.

To install the new ‌watchOS 9.2 update, developers will need to download the configuration profile from the Apple Developer Center.

Once installed, ‌watchOS 9.2‌ can be downloaded through the dedicated Apple Watch app on the iPhone by going to General > Software update. To update to new software, an Apple Watch needs to have 50 percent battery life, it has to be placed on the charger, and it will need to be in range of the ‌iPhone‌ it is paired with.

We don't yet know what's included in the watchOS 9.2 update, but watchOS 9.1 brought battery life improvements, Matter support, and various bug fixes.

We'll update this article if anything notable is found in the watchOS 9.2 update.

I would love to see "track detection" and "international roaming" :). For those who have beta access, does the profile indicate anything about track detection and international roaming? I'd love to know :)

Still can’t understand why roaming is not working/enabled.

Someone on Reddit reports that international roaming is now working. See:

International roaming is working for me now with watchOS 9.1 and iOS 16.1. I have AT&T and am roaming in Canada with my Apple Watch Ultra. I had to turn on roaming by tapping on the cellular icon in the watch control center then toggling Data Roaming on. Finally!

I wish I had that feature when I was in Canada which was just recently. It would have been awesome. Had a great time visiting too ;-) :)

Just checken in my watch. No roaming here, just two options: mobile service and mobile data.
Maybe it is a US/Canada exclusive? I’m located in the Netherlands

Thanks for checking. I’m not sure if it’sa US/Canada exclusive.

watchOS 9.1 has issues with music management.

The iPhone watch app > music > has no music listed.

The iPhone watch app > about > songs has songs listed (432 in my case).

The watch itself has previously “installed” music but no music can be added or removed.

Can we get nap detection?
And perhaps more advanced sleep features such an auto sleep detection rather than it being based off of the focus mode you're in?
These features would be really nice.
My Ultra detects naps. I use Sleepwatch, but if the app detects the naps, the watch must be too ;)

I don’t have any issues with the app.
Does it just show a list of all your medications, or a schedule for the day of what you take at different times? Mine used to basically mirror the phone, showing a schedule of what you take at various times of the day, and you could mark them off as you took them. Now it only shows a total list, with no schedules, and the statement "No medications scheduled today".

At this point, the watch app is pretty useless, when it was very useful before.
