Apple today seeded the first betas of upcoming iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 updates to developers for testing purposes, with the new software coming three weeks after the launch of iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4.

Developers can download iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 through the Apple Developer Center or over the air after the proper profile has been installed on an iPhone or iPad.

According to Apple's macOS release notes, Universal Control in the new iPadOS 15.5 and macOS Monterey 12.4 updates is not compatible with machines running macOS 12.3 or iPadOS 15.4, so Apple suggests that as a workaround, users should update their Universal Control devices to the new betas.

We don't know yet what else might be introduced in iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5, as Apple has now implemented all of the features that were announced as coming in the iOS and iPadOS 15 updates. After we install the new software, we'll update this article should anything new be found.

Interested to find out what the last iOS 15 changes will be before WWDC 2022.

I know right? With Apple remaining quiet after officially releasing 15.4 and WWDC around the corner, I was expecting them to announce WWDC before they release another beta.

ummmm... you meant to type 15.5 in the article, right? I mean releasing a 15.4 beta after apple released 15.4 to the public? Come on... pay attention to what you write, then post it.

Looking at iOS 12 and iOS 14 release calendar, we may get iOS 15.6 or maybe iOS 15.7 or possibly even iOS 15.8 roughly before iOS 16 release or by end of year 2022...

Is iOS 15 the worst version of iOS in history in regards to problems?
Hardly. Past iOS releases had much more severe bugs. Just look at Issues relating to the iOS operating system wiki page.

From my experience, iOS 11.x was the buggiest. Gems such as inability to send Exchange mail, wrong Calculator answers, auto correct "I" to "A" (e.g., "I am happy" to "A am happy"), and my personal favorite, local push notification. This would cause iPhone to crash on every local push notifications (e.g., alarm clock, calendar event) sent, starting from December 2, 2017. Apple pushed out a half baked iOS update few hours before December 2.

I am guessing iOS 15.5 would also fix Studio Display's camera performance, at least a forked version of it.

When will Apple get off their behinds and fix these issues which have existed since iOS 14?

Tiny microscopic text when viewing release notes for software updates:

White icons and text on white background in Control Center

Why does Apple not want text to be readable?

Hmm yes. I can see the point with the white background.
They already have these nice white/black adaption for the home bar, would be cool to see this as well for the icons. Nevertheless, not a groundbreaking thing.

Regarding the release notes: you’re reading it wrong. It’s meant to be like that.
