Apple Seeds Fourth Beta of macOS Tahoe to Developers

Apple today provided developers with the fourth beta of macOS Tahoe 26 for testing purposes, with the update coming two weeks after the third beta.

Registered developers can download the new beta software through the System Settings app.

macOS Tahoe features Apple's Liquid Glass redesign, which extends across all of the new updates this year. Apple also brought the Phone and Journal apps to the Mac for the first time, and introduced a new cross-platform Games app.

With the update, Apple overhauled how Spotlight works, enabling new functionality that allows it to be used to complete all kinds of actions like sending emails without having to open up an app. There are also changes to a number of apps, including Messages, Safari, and Notes.

Mac Mini M2 Pro not seeing it. Says system is up to date.

Appeared and installed with no problems on my machines. Fixes the iPhone sync window where the progress bar was partially hidden.

Usually the macOS updates appear 40-50 minutes after the release. Give it time.

Dear Apple please pick a naming device and stick with it. Do we still need to call this update "Tahoe" when Mac OS 26 does the job nicely enough. I get the CA naming idea but nobody is going to use it any longer now that the OS is named after a calendar year.

Hopefully they've fixed Spotlight because it's simply not working well at all on DB3. I can even be on the applications page, see the application I'm searching for listed, and it still won't find it, or it will show me the icon for the same app from my iPhone (and iPhone Mirroring isn't working either) but not my Mac.

I've had surprisingly few issues with the beta though. Mostly just Spotlight and iPhone Mirroring.
