Apple today seeded the fourth beta of an upcoming watchOS 9.1 update to developers for testing purposes, with the new beta coming one week after Apple released the third watchOS 9.1 beta.

To install ‌watchOS 9.1, developers will need to download the configuration profile from the Apple Developer Center. Once installed, ‌watchOS 9.1‌ can be downloaded through the dedicated Apple Watch app on the iPhone by going to General > Software update. To update to new software, an Apple Watch needs to have 50 percent battery life, it must be placed on the charger, and it needs to be in range of the ‌iPhone‌.

We don't yet know what's included in the watchOS 9.1 update as no new features have been found in the betas, but watchOS 9 brought a number of changes including a redesigned Compass app, a new medication tracking feature, updated watch faces, improvements to Workouts, new features for the ECG app, and more.

Been running the 9.1 beta since beta 2 on my ultra and it's been great, battery life has been the same as 9.0 which was also very good for me, 2.5 to 3 days usage before it would die.

Sucks one can’t install watchOS beta without a wifi connection even though with iOS one can install the beta using cellular.

WatchOS 9 was a pretty good refinement actually, as opposed to the ongoing public beta that has been iOS 16.

Only thing is the Siri watch face now constantly suggests a timer of random length, and if you tell it not to learn from timers, then it won’t show the card when one is active.

I don’t know who thought it was a great idea to suggest a random timer all the time, what the hell. Siri watch face may be the best face in my opinion since it does usually show useful information.

Not sure what happened there, hope it’s fixed in 9.1

anyone able to download the update for Ultra ? Mine says couldn't find the update

You really are a sad person having to express your disgust all over these forums. We know you hate the ultra. Now go and troll somewhere else!
It’s a discussion forum. Are we only allowed to discuss it if we like it?

In some articles, WatchOS 9 is supposed to coming with ability for international roaming. However, that does not seem to be available on the Apple Watch Ultra with the latest WatchOS 9 that I'm using. I'm currently in Canada and my home base is in the US; my carrier is TMobile.

It's unclear to me if international roaming for the Watch is a feature to come later in a later dot-release version of WatchOS 9. Anyone know and/or have the ability to test?

It's a bit disappointing that I can't use my Ultra's cell independent of the Watch when in Canada.

The 'outside the dial' complications on all the circular faces now have the text so small that they are illegible unless you are an Apple Designer with 20/20 vision. A real accessibility fail for anyone short-sighted or with impaired vision. WatchOS8 versions were fine with large text on one line, now they have uneccesary icons and tiny text on a second line.
