Apple today seeded the fourth beta of an upcoming visionOS 2.1 update to developers for testing purposes, with the new software coming a week after Apple seeded the third visionOS 2.1 beta.

Registered developers are able to opt into the betas by opening up the Settings app on their device, going to the Software Update Section, tapping on the "Beta Updates" option, and toggling on the Developer Beta. Note that an Apple ID associated with a developer account is required to download and install the beta.

There's no word yet on what's included in visionOS 2.1, but there are visionOS 2 features that Apple has not yet released, such as the option to use a larger ultrawide screen for the Mac Virtual Display and support for Multiview for MLS and MLB games.

The Mac Virtual Display is pretty much the only reason to get a Vision Pro. It's the ultimate work-from-bed setup, as you get the huge display of desktop with little additional weight. It's pretty much the only thing I use Vision Pro for (well, I also like the Immersive Photos and Videos I take of our family babies, also an underrated feature of Vision Pro)

Other than that I occasionally watch movies on it. Its great for 3D movies.

Depends, I've used that all of twice but I use mine every day for watching movies/tv and web browsing

I don't even understand testing a beta with notable changes since 2.0....

Apple just released a trailer for the first Apple Immersive short film "Submerged". Will be interesting to see how the technology aligns with story based content.

I'm very eager to try the larger ultra wide virtual display where some of the processing is offloaded to the Mac for sharper output. Probably 2.2 at this point.

Where is widescreen support?! These betas have added nothing other than the main Home Screen gesture which was nice. That's about it. Oh and moving apps around 🙄

Also wishing for widescreen support. Been trying to tinker with getting local cloud gaming server from PC onto AVP with Sunshine (AMD/Intel) 😎.
