Apple today seeded the release candidate version of an upcoming macOS Sequoia 15.5 update to developers and public beta testers, with the software coming a week after Apple released the fourth macOS Sequoia 15.5 beta.

Registered developers can opt-in to the macOS Sequoia beta through the Software Update section of the System Settings app. An Apple ID associated with an Apple Developer account is required to get the beta.

macOS Sequoia 15.5 appears to be a minor update so far, and no notable new features were found in the first four betas. The release candidate version represents the final version of macOS 15.5 that will be released to the public next week as long as no issues come up during this last week of testing.

Work on new features for macOS Sequoia is winding down, as Apple will soon transition to macOS 16. The next-generation version of macOS is set to be unveiled at WWDC in June.

there is a curious error on https://developer.apple.com/news/releases/ at the moment which is where i got most of the info in post #2 . i have since fixed the post but what it is saying on that website is that there is a ios 17.7.7 rc but it is in fact a iPadOS

mistake.png

So this should be iPadOS 17.7.7 RC (21H433)

in particular it is for the iPadPro 12.9 inch 2nd gen, iPad Pro 10.5 inch and iPad 6th gen

it's not the first time errors have appeared on that webpage, so unfortunately one needs to double check everything each time new stuff appears there. such errors might be expected from some fake-news website, but this is from apple!

Anyone know if the missing app shortcut from 15.4.1 was corrected? I have an M1 Mini and am curious. Also wondering if v16 will be supported

It looks like they forgot to release it to the AppleSeed Beta list.

It's there but incomplete. The RCs never got a full installer in the last time and normal betas mostly not on day one.

Or did you mean the developer downloads list?

Hopefully it won’t blow out my data volume like 15.4 did. Good thing I had a Time Machine back up from a month ago, had to format the entire disk and start over and restore. o_O

Hopefully the fixed the thing where they broke sandboxed file dialog windows for various things 🤬

Does it fix the bug where AirDrop can’t be added to the Finder sidebar or disappears after every restart?
Nope. When trying to check the AirDrop box to add to the sidebar it still refuses to check. You have to use cmd + R to browse for AirDrop hosts.

Bring a Trailer website crashes with Safari 18.5, but it's on an unsupported Mac (2012 MBP). Anyone else have this issue?

No problem here when I just click and scroll around on several sites there. Also got to the login, but have no account. (M4 Pro Mini).

Maybe try it with an ad- and tracking blocker if you don't already have one installed.
