Alongside iOS 15.6, iPadOS 15.6, and macOS Monterey 12.5, Apple has also seeded new betas of tvOS 15.6, watchOS 8.7, and HomePod 15.6 to developers for testing purposes.

tvOS 15.6 can be installed by downloading a profile onto the ‌Apple TV‌ using Xcode, while watchOS 8.7 can be downloaded over the air after installing the configuration profile from the Apple Developer Center. As for the HomePod, the beta software is limited to a select number of testers and it is not widely available to all developers.

At the current time, we do not know of any new features available in the betas, but we will update this article should anything notable be found.

Apple still has a lot to do to make larger networks eventually work better together (e.g. 6 HomePods and 2 Minis). Currently, I experience daily sobering, even after the last update.

It's unclear to me who Apple uses as testers, but apparently only people with a limited number of devices....

And of course, it's good that the full-szised HomePods are still getting updates. They are incredibly great, but still not perfect in response.

It’s my belief that they use a monkey. If the monkey touch the HP and music is successfully played, he gets a banana as reward. At the end of the day, an engineer counts the eaten bananas. If the number of bananas match the “plays” count, the software version under testing is approved and released.

Please check whether hearing device control has been restored in watchOS 8.7. Losing the ability to control a hearing aid/cochlear implant without retrieving a phone is really frustrating.

I think the software would work better, if the level of testing was that high ?

I don't know about others here, but I really wish Apple sold an updated version of the full-sized HomePod.
I do love mine. The sound quality is amazing but the software is SO buggy. It’s always been and never has gotten any better. Sometimes to the pony that I don’t use them out of frustration

My stereo pair constantly break pairing and only work as singles. It has to be unplugged rebooted and repaired every few days. Hey Siri rarely works too. But the sound quality keeps me using them

Lol oh my gosh that was very funny

Discontinuing Homepod was a tragically bad decision. Funny, these guys have no problem selling $600 wheels for a desktop computer and $400 hinge to raise a monitor 6” but apparently, they can’t sell the best sounding $300 wireless speakers on the market to keep it going. Smh

Have 8 mini's of which 4 are in stereo pair, they haven't broken for months. But if there are connection faillures, it is likely related to the wifi basestation/network you have.

Problems arise for me when I start my speaker orchestra (4 pairs of technically different generations) with Siri, for example, then take over with the iPhone and want to control it with the Watch. This can only be done with big breaks, if at all, and I am not able to make new commands if the old ones could not be realized. If I just play a playlist from Apple or from me, there are no problems, but the attempt to actively design does not work at all after some time. And: Yes, I am also always unsure how much blame for this has my WIFI Basestation. That you can not supply all boxes with Atmos I know of course. And that other manufacturers with Bluetooth do not have these difficulties is also clear, but I love the sound of Apple's boxes.

Technical problems that evoke when you set up a very complex network and communication structure.

Completely agree. I love my OG HomePods and dread the inevitable day they pass on to tech heaven when I can’t replace them.
