Apple today seeded the release candidate versions of upcoming iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6 updates to developers and public beta testers for testing purposes, with the new software coming one week after the release of the fifth betas.

Developers can download iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6 through the Apple Developer Center or over the air after the proper profile has been installed on an iPhone or iPad. Public beta testers can download the profile from Apple's beta testing website.

According to Apple's release notes for the update, it adds new options for live sports games and addresses issues with device storage Settings, Safari, and more.
iOS 15.6 includes enhancements, bug fixes and security updates.

- TV app adds the option to restart a live sports game already in-progress and pause, rewind, or fast-forward
- Fixes an issue where Settings may continue to display that device storage is full even if it is available
- Fixes an issue that may cause braille devices to slow down or stop responding when navigating text in Mail
- Fixes an issue in Safari where a tab may revert back to a previous page
iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6 could be some of the last updates to iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 as Apple is now working on iOS 16, which is set to be released this fall.

Apple has also released new RC versions of tvOS 15.6 and watchOS 8.7.

15.6 has been such a steaming pile from day one. I upgraded to 16 earlier than planned just because I needed to get away from 15.6's memory leaks and random crashes in the camera app.

ok I may be having a derr moment, but how do I sign up for the 15.6 public beta and not the ios 16? I want to download the RC to my devices but on the apple public beta site it seems the profile is only for ios 16 now?

Isn't it interesting that the final iOS release which addresses most bugs signifies the upcoming bug hell of the next iOS version?

Wouldn’t see it that negative. Furthermore nobody threats you to update to iOS 16 in September. You can simply wait for 16.2 or later when you are afraid of bugs.

Great news for the enterprise, Apple have fixed system updates, it has been broken since the first release of macOS Big Sur. Maybe now it will play better with MDM commands. Maybe.

Really that bad?
So, I don't have the 15.6 beta, but, iOS 15 has been mostly terrible, I wish Apple would quit releasing new features incrementally and only add new features all at once, I don't care about new features, I want it to just work again, like it used to.

Apple was supposed to support iOS 14, but, they really didn't. 14.8 was much better.

I still connect to my car stereo and most of the time it just plays the first title in my library. How can this not be fixed? This is so lame.

Multitasking doesn't work. It's only slightly better with 15.5 over 15.4. It's so annoying that they have to keep fixing this! Apple, if you can't get everything working correctly, don't add that new feature yet!!!!!!

Devs have to keep updating their apps, but, still things are not right.

I could go on but too busy.

Ios 15.6 have been the best ios 15 release for me so far, I hope RC makes it even better
?
