Apple today seeded the release candidate version of an upcoming tvOS 15.2 update to developers, with the software coming one week after the fourth beta and over a month after the release of tvOS 15.1, an update that introduced SharePlay support.

Developers can download the new tvOS 15.2 beta by downloading a profile onto the ‌Apple TV‌ using Xcode.

tvOS updates are often minor in scale, focusing on under-the-hood bug fixes and improvements rather than major outward-facing changes. There's no word yet on what's included in tvOS 15.2 update, but we'll update this article should anything new be found.

Though we don't often know what's new in tvOS during the beta testing process, we let MacRumors readers know when new updates are available so those who are developers can download it upon release.

Surprised this wasn't pushed out yesterday. It will be both for devs and PB testers.

tvOS 15.2 RC (19K53). Haven't seen any library issues yet with my measly few hundred iTunes digital content. Try it.

Developers with large media library: does the library finally work?

Apple’s best services and media customers have been abused and waiting years for the library to get fixed. Hopefully, it’s a Christmas miracle fix this release...

My1st gen 4K Apple TV is so laggy I almost don’t want it anymore:(
I have the new one and sometimes is laggy. Maybe there’s issues with the ATV app development teams. Or, they need to increase hardware capacity.

Try closing out background apps. That usually helps. Also some apps have more lag than others.

I have both versions and experience lag sometimes but the old version doesn’t lag any worse imo.

Mine seemed laggy too, then I switched it to 1080p instead of 4k (I have a 40” tv, no point of having it on 4k) and it’s blazing fast.

Apple devices shouldn’t require background app terminations to operate properly, ESPECIALLY if they are Apple TVs which do (almost) no background work app-wise.

You can’t even download movies to watch them later.
