Apple today seeded a new Safari 8.0.3 beta for developers running OS X Yosemite, along with a Safari 7.1.3 beta for Mavericks and a Safari 6.2.3 beta for Mountain Lion.

Registered Mac developers can download the new Safari builds through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store or through the Mac Dev Center. In the release notes for the new betas, Apple asks developers to focus on features like Extensions, Password AutoFill, HTML5 video playback, notifications, and more.
Focus Areas
Please focus testing on the following areas:

- General website compatibility
- Extension compatibility
- Password AutoFill
- HTML5 video playback on popular video sites
- Using the Web Inspector to debug websites
- Reading List read/unread state
- Editing bookmarks in the Favorites Bar and Bookmarks Sidebar
- Website notifications
In addition to the forthcoming Safari update, Apple is also working on another general OS X Yosemite update, OS X 10.10.2, which saw its second beta seeded to developers last Friday.

Although standalone installers are available for the betas of safari 7.1.3 and 6.2.3, I should point out that a standalone installer for safari 8.0.3 is not available yet because it is already included in the os x 10.10.2 betas.

Currently the only way to get safari 8.0.3 is through a full beta of os x 10.10.2.

They never fixed 6.2.2 Javascript beach balling. That only started with 6.2.1. Apple doesn't test their crap anymore. :/

Apparently Apple is listening to some of my and other complaints here or they've extended the Yosemite Beta program to a wider audience. I'm only a open Beta member currently

But I got a free offer to join the Developer/Beta Team which was surprising.

So now I can't say anything! HAHA!

Maybe they just wanted me to shut up! LOL

PS: I did once register for the IOS beta program when it was free when I got my first iPhone, so that could be the reason, but it's a bit strange don't you think?

Unless they opened the Yosemite beta up to everybody now?

Safari timeouts

It's not the first webpage that loads, but the second or third I try to load won't. I can then click on another shortcut and that works fine. This bug has been in since I started using Yosemite/Safari 8.0. Still not fixed. Hopefully this gets fixed in 8.0.3. It's starting to get really annoying.

Works great here, I left Firefox/Chrome for it.

Ive had it for awhile now. I will try it tomorrow.

Good. There was something up with 7.1.2. Was opening slow and took time to quit.

Let's hope they get this build right.
And let's hope they upload it right. In my Mountain Lion Mac, App Store never found neither the 6.2.1 nor the 6.2.2 update. Somebody posted direct links in these forums, but honestly, the update should show at the App Store. I'm still at the (very buggy) 6.2.0, hoping they update it someday.

They haven't got this right yet

At least for me the beachball is becoming the most regular interaction I'm having with Safari. Really doesn't like scrolling.

Why? Because all previous builds of Safari were so badly broken you couldn't use them?

No, because thats all he could think of in time to get the first reply in.
Simple things please simple minds ;)

Anyways, even the much ridiculed Safari 8.0.1 worked just fine for me. Still, more refinements are always welcome

iTunes has a widely reported bug where it does not recognize iOS devices after a while until the computer gets restarted. Other applications like Image Capture and iPhoto work fine with the iOS devices but iTunes 12.0 and 12.0.1 do not recognize the devices or give an error when connected via USB. Even connecting via WiFi fails. I hope Apple will fix this soon. They seem to have introduced a lot of little bugs like this with Yosemite and friends.

Safari keeps hanging for me on my brand new MacBook Pro on random websites. It even crashed on MacRumors last night. Pathetic.

It also hangs on my iMac randomly and a few friends have also reported the same random crashing issue so I know it's nothing I am doing wrong. How can Apple screw up something as basic as a web browser?

I noticed on my machine I wasn't seeing the Safari updates (not the beta's) either, in my user account side, but if I logged into my admin account and checked there they appeared and were able to be installed...YMMV

Same way it was screwed up for Yosemite. Obviously very little testing.

Isn't that the most nerve racking thing? Same issues here, random websites crash and hang. I'm also still having problems with YouTube (albeit less frequent than before). Glad I'm not the only one still experiencing the beach balls though, I first thought something was wrong with my brand new MBP.

Can we please kill the myth that making a Web Browser is simple and basic?
