Apple today seeded the second beta of an upcoming tvOS 10.2.2 update to developers for testing purposes, two weeks after releasing the first beta of tvOS 10.2.2 and a little over two weeks after releasing tvOS 10.2.1, a minor bug fix update.

tvOS 10.2.2 is available for the fourth-generation Apple TV. Registered developers can download the update by connecting the Apple TV to a computer with a USB-C cable and installing the beta software using iTunes.

Due to the installation requirements, tvOS betas are only available for developers, so tvOS 10.2.2 will not be publicly available until the final version of the software is released.

No major feature changes or bug fixes were discovered in the first beta of tvOS 10.2.2, and it appears to focus on minor under-the-hood improvements.

tvOS 10 will soon be followed by a new version of tvOS, which Apple is expected to introduce at its Worldwide Developers Conference on June 5.

So we want separate home screens right?

I think that having separate home screens would be good, but for my family, one home screen is perfectly fine.

I would be happy with just setting up the Apple TV with one Apple ID for all the content, purchases, subscriptions, IAP. But, have the ability to change the user of that content.

The current way of switching iTunes accounts on the ATV4 is pointless at my home. As all the purchase are under one iTunes Account, there is no reason to switch. Also, why is there not a quick way to switch between multiple game center accounts? For example, if I am playing risk under my game center, then my daughter wants to play, I have to go to settings to log out, then log in her account, type a password, only to have to repeat this every time we switch.

One negative (depending on how it works) I see about multiple home screens is re-authenticating cable subs, video app subs, and purchasing. Especially the Cable subscriptions, as they tend to need to be re-authenticated often. I am not sure what is up with the AMC app, but I have to re-authenticate it every couple days.

If multiple home screens means that you have to re-authenticate each app on each profile, then this would drive me not to use it. If you have to do this for a large family, on multiple ATVs, this would consume a large amount of time. I think that SSO would fix this, but that has not caught on yet (maybe never).

Interesting. It's hard to draw the line as to what is user vs device specific.

Multiple users would only be needed to keep watch lists from blending into one as it currently does. Right now even though Netflix and Hulu have individually user accounts. All the stuff my kids watch gets jumbled into the TV app. Annoying.

One iTunes account. 1 app authentication. Multiple watch lists.

Unless I am misunderstanding, I agree with you.

Although, I think there are other things that having multiple user profiles could help, one being there should be a way to toggle multiple Game Center accounts without having to logout of one.

I agree. I know that a lot of people would like a multiple user accounts on a particular device, similar to working on a Mac, and maybe I would like that too, but I think it wouldn't be needed on a device like the ATV.
