Apple today provided developers with the second beta of tvOS 10, the next-generation operating system designed to run on the fourth-generation Apple TV. tvOS 10 beta 2 comes three weeks after the operating system was first shown off at Apple's 2016 Worldwide Developers Conference

tvOS betas are more difficult to install than beta updates for iOS and OS X. Installing the tvOS beta requires the Apple TV to be connected to a computer with a USB-C to USB-A cable, with the software downloaded and installed via iTunes or Apple Configurator. Once a beta profile has been installed on the device through iTunes, new beta releases will be available over the air.

tvOS 10 builds on the features initially introduced in tvOS, bringing expanded Siri capabilities with topic-based search, Live Tune-In for automatically accessing live channels, and options for managing HomeKit accessories.

Single-Sign On allows users to sign in and authenticate cable credentials just once instead of requiring authentication in all cable-supported apps, games are now able to require controllers, and there are new features for Photos and Music.

A dark mode offers a better visual experience for darker rooms, universal apps are automatically downloaded, and there's a new Apple TV remote for iOS devices that mirrors the Siri Remote.

For a full overview of all of the new features in tvOS 10, make sure to check out our tvOS 10 roundup.

I still can't find the single sign on menu, I could be missing it tho
I read up a bit and it seems that the developers need to add it to their apps and only then will we see it. I am happy to stand corrected if someone knows better. I'm betting it's a combination of that along with it being added to the beta later as mentioned above.

I can't seem to get the update to show up on my iPad Pro LTE (256gb)

Unfortunately you're probably right. There is no need for the Apps to have the old authentication menus and methods, and they will need to be updated to retrieve authentication from the OS.

Please Apple add more Siri voice controls to change settings.

How about a Sleep timer option? Siri sleep in 35 minutes and it powers off Apple TV and actual tv. Siri "closed caption on" "restart" "check for updates"
Just saying. I can do these voice controls now but I have to be on the menu where the command is for it to activate by voice. Let me do this from anywhere on the interface.

Can any one check whether they bring back the swipe to fast-forward and and rewind without pausing the video first?

Clarify? There are Siri commands that work while looking at specific menus? First I've heard...

They're not bringing that back...that was a horrible design flaw that caused everyone to disrupt playback just by picking up the remote the wrong way.

please NO. That was a design flaw that needs to stay away. Just picking up the remote would advance your media playback. No thanks.

Very true I hated it. Want to move remote out of way and bam it is on the move fast forwarding.

Now just pause and move is much better idea.

Yes. I discovered this, guess I should have posted it before now. Hehe. but Once in the settings menu, you can hold down the mic and speak one of the listed commands instead of scrolling to it. My eye sight is horrible without glasses so i do this all the time. Only wish I could preform voice commands from anywhere. Mainly setting sleep and restating Apple TV.

Ability to play any stream in MLB App appears to be broken. Seriously pissed.

Worked fine in beta 1.

How about having Siri search your own content? Or have the keyboard work with a list like it did with the 3rd Gen of AppleTV? How about backing up to iCloud like the other iOS devices?

what makes you think your content is tagged properly enough to be searchable?

Even if I don't have my content tagged to the max with every bit of info possible, it STILL should be able to search for what it DOES have. Even if all you have is nothing more than the name of the movie, song, TV Show, home video, etc..., it STILL should be able to search the name.

Currently I believe only Dish works with single sign on... apple is trying to get everyone on board.

Does tvOS work differently from iOS? Meaning, I believe developers are not allowed to release updates for tvOS 10 until its released to the public.

Yes. How is this not a thing as yet. Seriously Apple… I want to call out and play my own content that's in my iTunes, the same iTunes you command must hold all my content if I want to play it on other device with home sharing. Index my iTunes and share it Siri locally… not the cloud. Less cloud, more local. Thanks.

thats a good question.
1. You CAN release updates of your app built with non-beta versions of xcode if you realize some aspect of sw that is crashing or troublesome in the new iOS due to deprecation or somesuch and a fix can be done in the previous iOS. I did that once.
2. I can't remember if testflight works during beta phases but that or the old school private beta distributions would be the only way to distribute via beta xcode.

Why? That's a terrible user experience. It is not surprising that Apple doesn't allow that.

You're just revealing your own ignorance and sense of entitlement, in pretending that what actually matters...doesn't, so that it can work out in your own mind.
