Apple today seeded the second beta of an upcoming watchOS 6.1.1 update to developers for testing purposes, one week after seeding the first beta and two weeks after releasing the watchOS 6.1 update.

Once the proper configuration profile has been installed from the Apple Developer Center, the new watchOS beta can be downloaded through the dedicated ??Apple Watch?? app on the iPhone by going to General > Software Update.

To install the update, the ??Apple Watch?? needs to have at least 50 percent battery, it must be placed on the charger, and it has to be in range of the iPhone.

watchOS 6.1.1 appears to be a minor update focusing on performance improvements and bug fixes that weren't able to be addressed in watchOS 6.1.

No new features were found in the first beta of watchOS 6.1.1, but we'll update this article should new features be found in the second beta.

So far so good, I am LOVING watchOS 6.1.1 and I’m installing this as we speak. So smooth!!
So, what I'm hearing from that is that watchOS 6.x was released about 60 days before it was ready.

(Actually, the official releases of watchOS 6 have worked fine for me. iOS 13 had some pretty glaring problems.)

Working great for me, been installed for a couple of hours now and battery is still sitting at 100%, so far so good and looks like it should maintain the 3 day battery life.

I really hope this fixes the "Unlock your iMac with your Apple Watch" bug. Ironically, everything sucked at WatchOS6.0 except for Unlock-your-Mac, and now with 6.1 everything is fine except for unlocking my Mac!

:(

I updated Tuesday just after the update came out on my series 3 and my wife updated her series 1. My wife's watch died Thursday late Thursday night/early Friday morning. It's just after noon here on Friday and my series 3 has 8% left and I expect it to be dead around 6pm Friday evening.

GREAT BATTERY LIFE!!!!
