Apple today provided developers with a second release candidate version of an upcoming macOS Sequoia 15.4 update for testing purposes. The new RC is available a few days after Apple released the initial RC earlier this week.

Registered developers can opt-in to the macOS Sequoia beta through the Software Update section of the System Settings app. An Apple ID associated with an Apple Developer account is required to get the beta.

macOS Sequoia 15.4 brings Mail Categorization to the Mac for the first time, reorganizing the Mail app into dedicated categories like transactions, updates, promotions, and primary, a category that surfaces the most important emails first. The update brings a range of new emoji characters to the Mac.

For Apple News+ subscribers, there is a dedicated News+ Food section with recipes, articles about restaurants, and other related content. There's a new Sketch style in Image Playground, the option to create Memory Movies in the Photos app, and Apple Intelligence is expanding to new languages.

Apple plans to release macOS Sequoia 15.4 in early April, and the RC represents the finalized version of the software that will be launched to the public as long as no issues are found.

Does this mail update allow to show the unread badge number for specific accounts or is it still all or nothing?

anyone knows when mail categorization will come to the icloud web? And also my mail categorization preferences on iOS is not synced to the macOS. When they will release that feature? Do i supposed to categorize my mails on each device separately? lol.

Is 15.4 the first macOS version with Mail Categorization? Then with the final release or never.

I just got this:

At first I thought it's GB but then was finished within a few seconds. Can't remember ever getting an update like that.

The chance clicking on more info is gone now. :(

Just tried to install it and on the reboot and progress bar my M4 Mac mini was hung for over an hour. Finally had to just unplug it and turn it back on. Fortunately it came back and update without issue.

My M4 Pro mini also does not like updating but this time there was no problem. I think it was the last time when the screen just went black and nothing happened anymore. Turning on and off helped and the installation was already finished. With Beta 3 or 4 I had many strange progress bars that showed no progress and it all took very long, but then suddenly got finished.

Email client is vital to my job. Months ago began using eM Client on iPhone, Mac and Windows. Highly recommend!

On what planet does Apple think that I want their crap AI to classify my mail? I'm smarter than their AI and I know what I want in my mail app. Stop dicking around edges and leave my stuff alone.
In the Mail app, deselect View > Show Mail Categories, and View > Show Priority Messages, and in Settings > Viewing, deselect Summarize Message Previews.
