OS-X-El-Capitan-Logo.jpg
Apple today seeded the second beta of an upcoming OS X 10.11.5 El Capitan update to developers for testing purposes, two weeks after releasing the first OS X 10.11.5 beta and a month after releasing OS X 10.11.4, the fourth update to the OS X 10.11 operating system.

The new OS X 10.11.5 update, build 15F24b, can be downloaded through the software update mechanism in the Mac App Store or through the Apple Developer Center.

Like prior OS X El Capitan updates, the fifth update is likely to focus on security enhancements, performance improvements, and bug fixes to address issues that have been discovered since the release of OS X 10.11.4. No obvious outward-facing changes were found in the first OS X 10.11.5 beta, but we will update this post with any changes discovered in the second beta.

Edit:

Why does the 9.3.2 beta 2 release make the front page and this is stuck in the Mac Blog? MacRumors should be renamed iOSRumors

That was my first thought too. o_O

Edit 2:

Evidently we can't please everyone. We've started putting some of these release posts on the blogs after receiving complaints that we were putting everything on the front page. :)

We'd be happy to stick them on the front page if we were seeing more changes in them, but 10.11.5 seems to be a pretty invisible update unless there are some changes I've missed seeing.

Hope this fixes the freezing issue a lot of people are experiencing with 10.11.4 with both MacBook Air and Pro...

It would make sense to put both minor beta release posts in the respective blogs, and if there is something hugely important added in either beta (such as the ability to remove stock apps in iOS), it would deserve an article of its own.

I'm still waiting for (assume its not an option already) the ability to setup messages to delete after 30 days. I have and use this feature on my iPhone and iPad but its manual on my 2 MAC's. Not a huge deal, nothing there someone can't see, but don't need to keep messages around forever so I have them remove themselves.

I'd suggest just putting both in the same place so they appear equal. If Apple's favoring one OS over the other by giving it more (or better) features that's their issue, not yours. You may even want to contrast the differences in the articles.

How times have changes that iOS Beta releases get home page attention but Mac OS X beta releases are the page 2

To be fair it's not MacRumors fault. It's Apple's fault for getting lamer and more mediocre by the minute.

Has the slow wake up from sleep been fixed? After the last update all my macs' wake up-time was increased by about 3x.

Now that you mention it, I did notice a few times that when email was being checked immediately after 'wake-up" it would complain about 'not connected to internet'. So I would wait for around 15 seconds while the iMac sorted itself out.

Weird. Hopefully it's fixed in this build.

This is happening on 10.11.4 on my iMac. I don't know if it's related to the go-to-sleep timer or longer, but after some period of time, the WiFi pretty much shuts down. I can't access it remotely and when I get in to work in the morning, my mail inbox will have NO new messages (I leave my mail application running all the time).

Downloading now...!

Anyone else have wifi connectivity issues with the previous beta?
Nope! The fault is all on your end.

It's not related.

By gorgeous design.

That's because you're unimportant. No one writes you an email during the night!

Don't get your hopes high folks. Nothing gets fixed in this version too as it's just a placebo update meant for Apple fanboys to jump around joyously for no reasons and the joker Craig Federighi to claim that they are seeding betas so fast and the adoption rate/(enthusiasm among fanboys) is pretty high so they don't need to fix any issues. All is well with OS X and it has no bugs especially in last five years when Craig Federighi took over. If Eddie Cue has a problem with Mac or OS X then he can go drive to Craig's house and his engineers will fix the problems for Eddie and rest of customers can only wait for the next upcoming of Jesus Christ.

When will the OS X 10.11.5 El Capitan be available for us regular people (other than developers)? I've found out that the Safari browser isn't working right with a sight I usually visit. Anyone know? Thank you for a response. -KT
