Apple today provided developers with the seventh beta of macOS Tahoe 26 for testing purposes, with the update coming a week after the sixth beta.

Registered developers can download the new beta software through the System Settings app.

macOS Tahoe features Apple's Liquid Glass redesign, which extends across all of the new updates this year. Apple also brought the Phone and Journal apps to the Mac for the first time, and introduced a new cross-platform Games app.

With the update, Apple overhauled how Spotlight works, enabling new functionality that allows it to be used to complete all kinds of actions like sending emails without having to open up an app. There are also changes to a number of apps, including Messages, Safari, and Notes.

All of the new features that are included in macOS Tahoe are outlined in our dedicated roundup.

macOS Tahoe is set to launch this fall.

Can anyone check if the new ringtones, the several different versions of reflection and little bird, are available in FaceTime and phone?
They weren’t there in the last beta, unlike iOS, and last time ringtones were added to iOS it took several months before they appeared on macOS.

We are getting closer, the last beta has been pretty much flawless for me, glass has been toned a bit from my perception, and it's a good thing.

Too bad window corners are still too rounded for my tastes.
Still a ton of things don't work as advertised (at WWDC). Games is still a pos app... and on macOS, it still doesn't let you navigate the content with a controller.

Yeah, I just don't get it. Way too rounded. I've submitted via Feedback Assistant an idea to put in the Accessibility options a way to reduce such. Would like for others to do the same.

I did the same. I suggested having a window control sizing option that, based on the size, would reduce the rounded edges as well.
I doubt Apple's going to walk this back the rounded corners. They've made it very clear that concentricity is a key part of this design language and that window corners are rounded in three different possible radii to match the contents of the titlebar/toolbar. (Not saying I agree with this decision mind you, just that Apple seemed very intentional about this).

Good thing that we humans adapt fairly quickly. So long as Apple isn't putting form over function, and they stay true to Human Interface Guidelines, then all good.

I'll always remember the genius design decisions made with the Mac menubar ... how moving the pointer on an angle would keep submenus open, or how slamming the pointer into the top-left corner always targeted the  menu.

Makes me wonder if the next MBP screens will have corner radii to match the windows!
Really bad design decisions don't seem off the table at Apple anymore.

Well this is Tue and the build completed early Friday morning EDT so it's maybe had two days of test time. But the graphical artefacts are still noticeable in Finder and Terminal so I am thinking they haven't figured out the RCA for that yet.

Not available yet on the latest public/developer beta on macOS.
They added it to iPadOS too this update.

The 2028 MacBooks will have dual corner cameras and a centered menu bar like iPad. The circles would go nicely in the rounded borders.
