Apple today seeded the third beta of an upcoming tvOS 18.2 update to developers for testing purposes, with the beta coming a week after second tvOS 18.2 beta.

Registered developers are able to download the tvOS 18.2 update by opting in to the beta through the Settings app on the Apple TV. A registered developer account is required.

tvOS 18.2 adds improved support for projectors with a 21:9 aspect ratio and several other aspect ratio options to choose from. The update allows the Apple TV to automatically detect the aspect ratio of your device, selecting the correct setting.

Had to enable automatic aspect ratios after update
tvOS 18.2 beta 3 (22K5148a) - November 18, 2024

Aspect ratio change is part of 3rd gen Apple TV 4K, not present on Apple TV 4K 2nd gen. 2nd gen does have snoopy screen saver.

When do you guys think they will finally get rid of the standalone Movies and TV shows app that doesn't work anymore, and also cannot delete?

Does anyone have an issue with doing a voice search in an App. Mine no longer works now. So for example if I go to Youtube search screen and then press the Siri button nothing happens.

The Threads network for matter devices might be fixed from where it was broken in the last beta when Ethernet is connected. (It appeared to fix itself when only connected via Wi-Fi.)

I just want back, the ability to set the screensaver photo display time before fading to the next photo while using Home Sharing connected to my Mac Mini.

How hard is it to leave alone, something that was working fine.
