Apple today seeded the third beta of an upcoming watchOS 8.6 beta to developers for testing purposes, with the new software coming a week after the release of the second beta.

To install ‌‌‌watchOS 8‌‌‌.6, developers will need to download the configuration profile from the Apple Developer Center. Once installed, ‌‌‌watchOS 8.6 can be downloaded through the dedicated Apple Watch app on the iPhone by going to General > Software update.

To update to new software, an Apple Watch needs to have 50 percent battery life, it must be placed on the charger, and it needs to be in range of the ‌‌‌iPhone‌‌‌.

We don't yet know what's included in the watchOS 8.6 update, and no new features have been discovered in the beta so far.

Maybe with this update, Apple, in their mercy, will allow us to max out the storage with media/music on our watches, instead of having artificial limitations imposed.
LOL. Prolly not.

Battery life seemed much improved in beta 2 on my series 7, so fingers crossed that continues with beta 3. As an example an average night of sleep tracking (approx. 22:30 to 06:15) would normally use about 15% of the battery, but with beta 2 was only using about 10%.

Hope to see a new watch, something fresh this year. Had to sell mine because charging/flexibility felt like it was too much of a hassle vs the convince vs the redundancy of the features

I'm hoping this reverses the removal of controls for Made for iPhone hearing aids. I can't control my hearing aid with my watch ever since I installed 8.5. The bug fix update did not fix this issue.

I was hoping this as well. Here’s to hoping

My iPhone came up with a message saying that the update has failed, even tho it didn’t.
It may be that if your watch is also set to Auto Update that the watch rather than the phone did the update, I usually get it the other way round
