Apple today provided developers with the third beta of tvOS 26 for testing purposes, with the beta coming two weeks after the second beta was released.

The software updates can be downloaded through the Settings app on the Apple TV.

tvOS 26 adopts new Liquid Glass design changes inspired by visionOS, much like iOS 26 and macOS 26. The update also includes support for karaoke using an iPhone as a microphone, improvements for using AirPlay speakers with a TV, new Aerial screen savers, and quicker logins to apps at setup thanks to Apple Account syncing.

The beta is limited to developers right now, but tvOS 26 will be available to public beta testers in the near future ahead of its fall launch.

Apple released iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe 26, visionOS 26, and watchOS 26 yesterday, but tvOS 26 was held until today.

Hope it fixes the bug where you can't see which Aerials you're turning on/off, present in the first two betas.

EDIT: It does not. So it remains pretty hard to hide ones you don't want included, when the thumbnails are all blank with 3 dots. 🙄

Thank god, fingers crossed it fixes the dropped frames / stutter on YouTube. Find that it happens every 20-30 minutes and the only solution at the moment it to reboot the box only to restart that timer before it does it again.

For me, audio doesn’t synchronise properly between Apple TV and HomePod 2 on the first two betas. There’s a few milliseconds of latency. Hope it’s resolved.

The stutter is present on TV+ as well. I hope this new beta fixes it. Did you update it and find out if it's fixed?

If anyone is able to, I would love to see some pics of what the new interface looks like.

My house mate installed the update earlier. Testing now. But only had 5 minutes.

Will carry on for about an hour and let you guys know.

Installing now.

I only install dev betas on toys, so running it on an Apple TV and an iPad.

Anyone else seeing TV app freezing after opening on the new beta? On latest generation 4k with ethernet hw.

UPDATE: Full reset of Apple TV and re-setup resolved the issue.

Never had that issue, even on the first two betas. Videos do play a little laggy, though, but that seems to be a constant thing (i.e. happening all the time and rebooting doesn't solve it) and not just in the YouTube app. But I don't have a dropped frames issue.

Did the issue occur again after the reset? Mine worked after the reset until I turned it off. Next time I powered it on and used the Siri remote the TV app froze again.
