Apple today seeded the fifth beta of an upcoming watchOS 4.2.2 update to developers, 10 days after seeding the fourth beta and more than a month after releasing watchOS 4.2, an update that introduced support for Apple Pay Cash.

Once the proper configuration profile has been installed from the Apple Developer Center, the new watchOS beta can be downloaded through the dedicated Apple Watch app on the iPhone by going to General --> Software update.

To install the update, the Apple Watch needs to have at least 50 percent battery, it must be placed on the charger, and it has to be in range of the iPhone.

We don't yet know what features or improvements might be included in the watchOS 4.2.2 update, as no outward-facing changes were discovered in the first four betas.

It's possible this update focuses mainly on bug fixes, and if that's the case, we won't know the extent of the changes until it sees a public release complete with release notes. Should new features be discovered in the fifth watchOS 4.2.2 beta, we'll update this post.

I would like to be able to stream through my watch speaker, and web browse too.

That is all.
The interesting thing is, you named the two things I would not care to use my watch for. Have you tried AirPods with the watch? Now that is fantastic. The beach this fall was watch LTE, AirPods, and a few good playlists. My phone stayed in the condo so nothing to worry about besides a cooler and chair.

It’s the only way I work out now and if I go out to a social gathering I only take my watch inside with me I hate carrying a bulky phone in my pocket... once watch apps become more intuitive I won’t be carrying my phone much at all

Galaxy Gear can do both.

I do have AirPods for Phone calls. Otherwise I don't like things in my ears.

Does this fix the “feature” of having the stopwatch keep taking over the watch face while it’s running?

Since I installed watchOS 4 on my Apple Watch it doesn't react to well to my taps on the screen. I assume it is busy with other stuff. I really hope this will get fixed at one point.

I think the watch is just slower overall after watchOS 4. I’m on series 2. I’m most surprised how much lag there is just skipping songs in the music app. Feels like an old MP3 player from 10 years ago. On a brighter note, my battery life is better than ever.
