You can call them to buy it over the phone or you can buy it at the store; if you buy it over the phone you are autoenrolled; if you buy it at the store, you have to enroll it online--instructions in the box.

this is the thing you need to buy and it with be fine for your computer

Huh?

there are a couple of other websites that offer a lower priced AppleCare. eBay is one of them. You could get some massive discount there. Buying directly from Apple just costs too much when there are other alternatives out there.

Bought my Applecare from ebay as well. Saved $100.00.

Entered the numbers the seller sent me on Apples site to verify the registration. I'm good till 3/2011.

Worked like a champ.

I dunno if you are in the U.S. or in Canada but here in Canada there is an online store called Sig Electronics that sales the Applecare Protection Plan for cheap.

Don't forget to buy the plan specifically for the Macbook Pro.

i ordered it online with the student discount... good enough discount for me... do i need to do something else?

where do i register it?... do i have to wait in the mail to get the # before I can register it?

btw... thanks for all the helps guys

Yeah, you'll get your box with instructions for everything, so you can just wait for the mail till then. It's pretty simple...but I'm glad to see the eagerness and thoroughness with your purchase.

Once you get the AppleCare box in the mail, there should be a sheet with a sticker on the bottom left. That sticker would have your enrollment number. Just follow the instructions on the sheet to enroll your MBP online. You will need that number.

I purchased my macbook pro last year and paid for apple care plan $250 now it is $350 what is going on?

Are you sure you got the Macbook Pro plan? For the Macbook it is $249, the Macbook Pro is $349.

Go to the Apple site, under Support. On the right side is a place to see your registered plans. Double check to see if it is the correct plan for your computer.

I will be making a MBP purchase very soon, just need a little more cash, although I have already started buying the extras. 1) Is this "care plan" a replacement or repair plan? 2) What is the typical service time? 3) Who has used the phone service & what for? 4) Will this help me if my MBP ends up in the microwave 2.5 years from now, as electronics sometimes do?
