Apple today shared the first two ads for the new iPad Pro, including the all-new 10.5-inch model just announced, on its YouTube channel.

The 15-second spots are the latest in Apple's ongoing ad campaign that reads out actual Twitter complaints and then promotes the iPad Pro as a solution.

In "a whole new kind of computer," Apple recommends the person purchase a new iPad Pro, which will allow them to quickly forget about their broken computer.

In "so many things to love," Apple quips that the person who tweeted "I hate everything" is going to "hate" the new iPad Pro because they can do "pretty much everything" with it, like type, take notes, and multitask.

The new iPad Pro is available to order today in 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch sizes starting at $649 and $799 respectively in the United States.

If I can't hook up a mouse to it, it's not a computer in the sense that marketing wants you to believe.

There's still plenty more of talking points to argue the "computerness" of an iPad, but this argument will likely do for a very long time.

wow these are terrible commercials and im a huge apple fan

But they get their point across of their intentions and where Apple ultimately envisions the iPad to be a PC replacement. That's the controversial part, for some they believe it and others they don't.

it's getting there.

im curious though why they would want to cannibalize the macbooks?

I was all set to buy the new 10.5" iPad... and then I saw the ugly protruding rear camera.
*sigh*
Empty shopping basket.....

No, that argument won't do for me.

A strategic half pause would have definitely helped that first ad. It sounds like the announcer says either 'A Tenex Fusion chip' or 'A10 Exfusion Chip'. Recognizing that I'm not the target audience for these, this entire campaign has no resonance. They all seem entirely forgettable.

ymmv, just as your use cases in computing.

However, being able to use a mouse is reason enough for plenty of people I'd like to believe that this marketing strategy is iffy at best.

If it speaks to some, or many, or whatever the share is then so be it and all the power to Apple, however to some there are very specific needs a computer needs to fulfill, everything else is a second-class experience for the job.

That's not to say the iPad isn't a great experience in other ways to me, I really love my iPad, but just the fact that I can't properly administer my own device and can't use a mouse will forever have me look at it as a toy/do-the-job-and-drop-the-project-on-a-computer kind of device.

Not a device I want to rely on solely.

iPad Pro 10.5 - I would buy it depending on Microsoft Office - if it free then I'll purchase it right now!

Sorry Apple, i wont give you my credit card for your new products this time. Please innovate more

Not really a fan of these. Think they missed the mark and they should be way more "Pro" focussing on the features making it unique

I'm excited to get the new 10.5 inch iPad. Will change my 12.9 inch iPad which I've loved so far.

Just want to represent those who are not complaining.

As much as I try to turn my iPad into a laptop, all I have to do is start working on a presentation to get frustrated enough to go back to the MacBook. Doing simple things like adding pictures to my slides from the web just becomes annoying. I do remain more focused with the iPad, though, as multitasking can only go so far and thus I'm less distracted!

Here we go again....

Although it is more worthy of being considered as a PC replacement with iOS 11.
It was a PC replacement for many, and iOS 11 brings even more into that category. Those who frequent this forum are an extreme minority of tech users who it won't replace their PC.

For me the new ipad pros + ios11 seem a good step forward. I just ordered an 12.9 to replace my old ipad2 and hopefully the new ipad can replace my wacom for photoshop photo editing also

Is the first time in 5 year I'm giving apple my money, they made a hue jump with iPad with iOS 11

Impressively, iOS 11 was almost more suited nicely for the iPad. It just seems like a lot of features are going to be really applicable to the iPad and I look forward to seeing how this is all going to mesh together. I actually looked forward to iOS 11 more so on the iPad today than I did on the iPhone.

The real question is whether the 12.9" version will have the same problem, or be flat as it currently is (very nice for resting it on a flat surface without wobble).

It's difficult to tell. The 'View Gallery' for the new ipad pros show both models, and there is no definite side-on view of the 12.9" model. So we may have to wait and see either better photos from journalists who saw it yesterday at the keynote, or when it appears in stores.

But I do like that they have updated the front camera from 1.2mp/720p in the first 12.9" iPP, to 7mp/1080p.
