Apple today shared a first look feature of "Palmer," an upcoming Apple TV+ film that stars Justin Timberlake taking on the role of a former college football phenomenon who returns to his hometown to get his life back on track after a stint in prison.

Described as a story of "redemption, acceptance, and love," "Palmer" will be released on Apple TV+ this Friday.
After 12 years in prison, former high school football star Eddie Palmer returns home to put his life back together--and forms an unlikely bond with Sam, an outcast boy from a troubled home. But Eddie's past threatens to ruin his new life and family.
Along with Justin Timberlake, "Palmer" stars Juno Temple, Alisha Wainwright, June Squibb, and newcomer Ryder Allen. The screenplay was written by Cheryl Guerriero, and it is directed by actor Fisher Stevens.

Apple recently announced plans to extend all Apple TV+ free trials until July 2021, giving people more time to watch the available original content before making a decision on whether to subscribe. Apple TV+ has been available for free since November 2019 for those who purchased an eligible Apple device in September 2019 or later.

Without the free trial, Apple TV+ is priced at $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year, but Apple is also currently crediting paid subscribers as well. Apple TV+ is available on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Macs, consoles, and other set-top boxes, as well as smart TVs from brands like Samsung, Sony, and LG.

For those out of the loop, the filming of this movie was when Justin Timberlake was caught on film having physical interactions with costar Alisha Wainwright. He publicly apologized to his wife. The tabloids say that she has forgiven him but that her parents have not forgiven him.

Just a little tabloid gossip that IMO is probably more interesting than the movie.

I appreciate much of Apple TV+. I have enjoyed the following shows/movies:
tiny world
trying
ted lasso
fireball
greyhound
long way up
home

This just reminded me to cancel the free trail before they get a charge in.

In order to cancel Apple TV I had to go into the Music app to get to the account 😂 I guess Apple can't always be the best.
You can also go Settings/Apple ID (on the top) / Subscriptions

Too many people reading way too much into the intentions of this movie, giving Hollywood too much credit.

The boy character is simply a shortcut for “instant dramatic conflict,” requiring little effort on developing the character.

On Catalina it doesnt seem to be possible to cancel the Apple TV free trial thought the TV app. The "Account" menu bar lets me sign out and also "View my account". 'view my account" shows my Apple ID info and purchase history, but in purchase history there is no way to access the Apple TV subscription (purchase history mentions the subscription but no actions available). Just leads to a dead end. Had to google how to find it, and the answer was in Music App.

Having watched the 2 minute trailer, I think I’ll pass on the remaining 98 as it feels I’ve already seen the entire movie.
I have no comment on the actual story or complaints about Apple TV+ (I've been enjoying the service) but I 100% agree with this comment. This is the kind of trailer cutting that I strongly dislike. Very fast paced, showing poignant moments from every phase of the story arc, already letting you fill in a lot of the blanks. For non-hallmark movies (which have their place), I just think this is bad editing.

Curious what you watched on the channel? Which did you not like? Since they just extended your trial until July, seems like a mistake.

On what device for what version of the OS? Subscriptions on iOS/iPadOs are in the subscriptions section of one’s Apple ID account in current versions of iOS/iPadOS.

I am sure you spent 50-60 hours watching all of the movies and at least one episode of each of the series. Glad you put in that much work to know how bad it all was.
Actually I did. It’s called being well informed before I give my review. It is a joke of a service.
