After releasing iOS 26 today, Apple has shared a list of nearly 200 changes included in the software update, ranging from new features to minor tweaks.

Keep in mind that 200 changes does not mean 200 new features. The list contains even the smallest of changes across the operating system and Apple's built-in apps.

The vast majority of the changes in the list have already received lots of attention. Here are a few small changes that went somewhat under the radar:

  • eSIM Quick Transfer now requires Face ID or Touch ID, with no passcode fallback, when Stolen Device Protection is active.
  • In the Messages app, there is now a Drafts folder/filter.
  • In the Podcasts app, there are more listening speeds, ranging from 0.5x to 3x. You can save your preferred speed per podcast.

Apple also shared equivalent lists for iPadOS 26 and macOS 26.

Throughout the week, we will be highlighting many of the new features in iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26, and Apple's other software updates, so stay tuned.

Probably my favorite list of small tweaks that apple adds to iOS every year

I love looking over this list every year - after Apple publishes it to see what minor things have changed for the better

I also from time to time come up with ideas for changes that Apple could possibly incorporate in future iOS versions as well

Well they broke this website. How the hell did nobody notice this in the betas and get it sorted? The grey text is barely legible.

Then half the app icons are blurry and look like ****. View attachment 2549435
Apple doesn't do a test phase. Even if they call it BETA. The intervals between versions are too short to fix even a fraction of the reported bugs.

A quick calculation.
BETA is released on day 01.
Users and developers test the version for a week and report bugs to Apple. Let's say roughly 3,000 bugs. The development team now has a week to fix them.
Because on day 15, the next BETA is released.

Apple's BETA versions are a means of generating headlines. It has nothing to do with finding and fixing bugs.

This is why I upgraded to iOS 18.7 on my iPhone 16 Plus and iPadOS 18.7 on my iPad Air 13" M3 today. I'll let everyone else "take the arrows" and may only update after iOS 26.0.1 comes out probably by early October or even wait for the more significant iOS 26.1 update.

I like the photos app I think but other than that I can’t really tell the difference apart from icons.. different text fonts as well.

Is just subtle changes but perhaps that’s the whole point…

I gave my phone to wife and 11 year old and they couldn’t tell the difference from their phones except they noticed Liquid Glass on passcode menus

I was looking forward to Auto Mix. However it is only on iPhone, iPad, and macOS. Home Pods where I do 95% of my listening it is absent. AppleTV also lacks the feature. GOOD JOB IDIOTS. OK-OK that's a bit harsh. Good job dorks?

"But it uses Ai, those can't handle it." NOT MY PROBLEM. Make better ones.
