Following the launch of iPhone XR pre-orders at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time on October 19, Apple uploaded two new iPhone XR videos to its YouTube channel.

The two short videos are designed to show off the iPhone XR's design and feature set, with the "Spectrum" video focusing on the different colors available and a second introductory video highlighting the Liquid Retina LCD display, the single lens camera with Depth Control, and Face ID.

These are the first iPhone XR videos that Apple has shared so far following the device's September introduction. Pre-orders for the iPhone XR are now live, with pricing starting at $749. For full details on the new features in the iPhone XR, make sure to check out our roundup.

The video's are awesome. The colors on these phones are great and will be in the wild advertising as it is.

This should sell well for those who can’t stretch to the ‘higher end’ models.

True for that but also folks (like myself) who could buy the Xs series but don't think the extra 2x zoom camera, shorter battery life and higher resolution displays (over the retina resolution of the Xr) are worth $250 - $350 more. I would use the zoom some, but its just not worth $350 more to me (since I'd want a Max).

I would not think the pre-order frenzy will be as big for the Xr, guessing most of that will have been taken by the Xs release a month (?) ago.

I'll wait for the iPhone X SE2

I hope they create one, the SE was a great phone. The fact that they dropped the SE without a replacement (instead of just keeping it around) makes me pessimistic about the chances on this though.

iPhone XR with the “R” standing for “Rectale” where liquid poop comes from :p

Charging €859 ($985) in EU for a 720P 64GB phone should be illegal. This is pure insult to iOS customers. I have no words for it....

Here in UK the price difference is huge, especially with AppleCare which costs more with XS/Max:

XR 256GB £899 + AppleCare £149 = £1048
XS Max 256GB £1249 + AppleCare £199 = £1448

So for an additional £400 (!!! currently $520) compared to the XR the XS Max gives me:

2x optical zoom and more accurate portrait-mode (rear camera)
Higher resolution OLED screen
Faster LTE if my carrier supports it
More durable stainless steel frame
Slight increase in water resistance
3D Touch support
- shorter battery life
- possibility (very unlikely) of screen burn

I agree with you the jump in price just isn't worth it. I'm coming from a 6-plus (not even a 6s-plus) so I never had 3D Touch, never had any water resistance so IP67 will already be a big upgrade, my 4G LTE is already fast, I'm more of a business user so rarely take photos that would benefit from zoom or portrait mode, I don't watch TV or movies on my phone. All I really want from the upgrade is faster performance with the same or better battery life which the XR gives me. I just wish there was a 512GB version of the XR...

I have a 5S but I'd like a new phone. I just can't believe a cell phone costs just as much as an iMac computer.

cRaZy!!!!

The XR is $32 a month from Apple. I would like a phone that's $20 a month. ☹️ My SE was only $10 a month.

If $12 a month, or $3 a week, makes such a huge difference to you don't get a new phone at all. Invest it in 3/4 of a cup of coffee a week instead...

I don't drink coffee.
[doublepost=1540050027][/doublepost]Apple doesn't make an iPhone I care to own anymore. I don't want Face ID.

I want an 8 Plus but Apple no longer offers 24 months no interest on it ever since the XS came out.

I don't want my monthly payments for my phone on my Verizon bill so I'm screwed.
