Apple today continued with its long-running "Shot on iPhone" series, uploading another "Experiments" video that focuses on the camera capabilities of the iPhone 13 Pro.

The "Movie Magic" video features Dong Hoon Jun and visual artist James Thornton explaining how they shot a short sci-fi film. The video highlights various effects that can be captured with the iPhone 13 Pro and a set of props like hyperspeed, an outer space look, anti-gravity, a cloudscape, and more.

Proof of "Space" being nothing more than CGI...

Fun.
But one thing that bugs: why is the speed-of-light sequence moving away from the astronaut? Is he making the jump to hyperspace in reverse?

Can they please stop playing that damn commercial with the mumble shout music

Always cool to see people play with practice FX, but from a camera perspective, these commercials and videos don't really look that great camera quality-wise. I cringe every time I see them air.

Interesting. I’ve had every iteration of iPhone from the ‘07 launch day device through the 13 Pro, and the 13 Pro cams are, in my experience, the best cameras Apple has offered to date. Hands down.
This has been my experience, the camera on my XS, on the other hand, was trash. Didn’t matter because I didn’t have a kid yet, but I could never go back.

Plus, the night photography on the 13 pro is out of this world.

I thought by "shot practically" on iPhone, it meant "shot almost" on iPhone. For using mainly practical effects, they did a pretty impressive job.
Same. I don't think I've heard the word "practically" used that way to describe physical effects; it's always just "practical."

Wish I could watch this video... but I got a Mac and those *&4@!s have f*d up Bluetooth which causes me to lose my internal speakers. I can fix it by logging out and in, but it'll break soon enough again. And turning off Bluetooth at least lets me use plugged in external headphones.

I don't know if I can recommend Macs anymore after this sh*t show with Bluetooth.

I am currently working on a Stop Action short with my iPhone 12 Pro Max. My rigging isn't as extensive as these guys, but it looks amazing.
