Apple recently released a series of six audiobooks that have been narrated by celebrities that include Kate Beckinsale and Kelsey Grammer, making them available to Apple Books users for free.

The titles are all in the public domain, but are unique because of their celebrity narrations. A list of available titles is below:

[*]Pride and Prejudice, written by Jane Austen and narrated by actress Kate Beckinsale
[*]The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, written by L. Frank Baum and narrated by comedian Tituss Burgess
[*]The Secret Garden, written by Frances Hodgson Burnett and narrated by actress Karen Gillian
[*]The Time Machine, written by H.G. Wells and narrated by actor Kelsey Grammer
[*]Frankenstein, written by Mary Shelley and narrated by podcaster Aaron Mahnke
[*]Winnie the Pooh, narrated by the Disney Book Group

All six of the books are available for download through the Audiobooks section of the Apple Books app on the iPhone and iPad. You can also get them through the audiobooks section of the iTunes Store on the Mac, where they're listed as a featured download option.

I love audiobooks when I am driving, can't beat free.

Yep, several years ago I listened to "Unbroken" by Laura Hillenbrand when road tripping across the south. It is an entertaining and engaging use of the time.

I will enjoy Pride and Prejudice...plus I adore Kate Beckinsale.

Glad to see Apple do this. The more attention the Apple Books store gets, the better for publishers and readers alike. :)

Sucks only US :(
I can speak English and understand, don't get why I don't have the option to download this :(

I wish, the Winnie the Pooh offed would be available in Germany.

It’s still a great offer and I’ll listen to all of them. But especially on that one I would’ve loved to get my hands on.

Do you also get the Winnie the Pooh one? That's the only one I'm missing and it seems that this one is only available through the US store - so not generally available in Germany.
Same here in Norway - restrictive Disney copyright perhaps? A bit of a shame as my daughter may have liked it.

Oh, i just love Disney Book Group. I haven't missed a single episode of the thing that they're in.

I hope Apple will soon release a book read by U2 and send it automatically to every device!

But seriously, I love this. I downloaded them all. Great narration. I love audiobooks in general. Audiobooks narrated by top actors are the best.

OK, I guess. Really not that exciting being that most (all?) of these books are now in the public domain and you've been able to get them for free for quite a few years.

You’ve missed the point. These are read by famous or near-famous actors. I use Librivox, too, but honestly, most of the readers on there put me to sleep. Not all audiobooks are created equal.
