Apple today shared a teaser for an upcoming series called "The Snoopy Show," which will launch on February 5, 2021.

"The Snoopy Show" will mark Apple's second series made in partnership with WildBrain (formerly DHX Media) and its subsidiary Peanuts Worldwide. Apple in 2019 debuted faux documentary "Peanuts in Space: Secrets of Apollo 10," and "Snoopy in Space," following Snoopy and the Peanuts gang as Snoopy pursues his dream of being an astronaut.

Apple won an Emmy for Outstanding Children's or Family Viewing Program for Peanuts in Space, and it has committed to producing a range of new "Peanuts" content in the future.

As long as there isn't a 10 minute interview with Rupaul in the first episode like the new Muppets thing from Disney. So boring. Show started out okay, but we turned it off as kids got bored, had no idea who they were talking to, etc.

Looks nice, but I wonder how many parents would immediately think of going on Apple TV for it? Up to now it’s mostly been mature content.
There are plenty of adults who would watch it on their own. Snoopy has appeal across all age groups because he’s been around for so long. Those of us who are parents will just call the kids in to watch. But I don’t think anyone who is a parent would sign up for Apple TV just to get this for their kids, for the reason you stated.

I laugh when I remember the many forum members who lost their tempers because it was initially reported that Apple TV was going to be “family friendly.” Well so much for THAT, unless you’ve got a very unconventional family! Even if I were okay with kids watching some of the racier scenes in “Servant”, (which I am not) I can guarantee they would NOT be okay watching those scenes with their mom and dad in the room. It would be mortifying for most teens and tweens. Nobody wants to sit and watch sex scenes with “old people”. Which could be a 35 year old, if you’re their 15 year old kid. Lol.

So, no, I can’t say Apple TV is particularly family friendly and I hope the people who were particularly ferocious over the possibility it was going to be, choked on their own bile back during that time, because they were as intolerant as they were accusing the rest of us who were hopeful for family friendly programming of being.

Personally I think Apple has been pretty good coming out of the starting gate with a little something for everyone and I think they show tremendous promise that they are going to grow their catalog of offerings in a positive way. I am so looking forward to the Foundation Series.

I know are they going to have any live stuff with adult themed plots without everything leaning so hard toward R?

Yea I love Snoopy and Fraggle Rock but would still like live action adult plots without everything being heavily R

Now this is the kind of thing that could start driving some actual TV+ subscriptions going forward. They just need to keep it up.

Absolutely, the only reason I cancelled my subscription is because I didn’t feel there was enough content. This will surely bring me back though, at least for the snoopy show.

Love it! The best part is even though it's probably computer animated it looks very similar to hand-drawn, unlike The Peanuts Movie from 2015. Most modern computer animation is a little creepy to me.

This is the first thing on Apple TV+ that I've seen and said "Definitely watching that as soon as it's out."

I grew up on classic Peanuts cartoons and comic strips, and this looks like it's captured the feel of the playful Snoopy bits. The only question now is whether adults speak in trombone noises.

Landing Snoopy was a master stroke. Apple can and is creating their own properties but familiarity with established brands is important to kick start the platform. Snoopy fits right in at Apple.

apple dredging up anything they can to make their channel relevant - which is extremely lite on content and not worth the monthly fee in any sense. they should use their models with "News" and amalgamate other premium channels rather than trying to move into a completely different business they have no experience in.
